I quite liked school.
Being with your mates and all that. Trying to get alcohol/laid etc.

Alt: Amsterdam. In the summer.
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 11:42, 2 replies, latest was 14 years ago)
I'm going to amsterdam this Christmas
I plan to get shitfaced and fall in a canal.
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 11:43, Reply)

f do a ...oh, fuck it.

Just pretend I did a really good strikethrough about anal, yeah?
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 11:46, Reply)
I'd heard that things were changing in Amsterdam so you wouldn't be able to smoke as a tourist
having just read up on it from what looks like a legit source of info, that would appear to be nonsense.
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 11:52, Reply)
Pfft
they'd never be so stupid as to do something like that to their tourist revenues. And when last I went I was very well behaved; we just got giggly in the back of the coffee shop and played card games. Some of the locals even commented on how nice we were.
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 11:54, Reply)
yeah, it sounded unlikely to me
they also say that if they did that it would attract more attention and get more of their young people doing it.

I was well behaved last time I was there too. Got nicely wasted in a coffee shop then went for a walk along the canals.
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 11:59, Reply)
there is a smoking ban now isn't there?
so it's harder to smoke I think. but it must still be possible in the coffee shops somehow
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 11:56, Reply)
They have sensible govt
So the smoking ban doesn't apply in coffee shops. Or most bars tbh.
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 11:58, Reply)
^this
we asked about smoking baccy in spliffs last time we were there, and the woman in the coffee shop just said do it in the rooms upstairs.
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:01, Reply)
Civilised
is what it is.
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:02, Reply)
not the price of beer
admittedly this was in the Grasshopper by the station, but three large Heinekens cost 18 euros
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:04, Reply)
Keeps the Northern riff raff out, Vippers.

(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:04, Reply)
Didn't keep me out.

(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:05, Reply)
MOST of the Northern riff raff out. ;-)

(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:06, Reply)
What you've done there is go to 'Leicester Square', 'Las Ramblas', 'Champs Elysee' etc etc

(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:06, Reply)
With a T-shirt on that says "Gouge me".

(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:07, Reply)
yeah I know
but I was waiting for a train, had some gear to finish and wanted to go to a spacious bar with hot bar women
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:07, Reply)
It does
They do provide some alternative 'filler' for your joints. However, I was talking to the manager at the Rockerij and he said it was impossible for them to police whether you used tobacco in your joints or not. His advice was to keep your tobacco in your pockets rather than on the table, so if someone did come around checking they wouldn't notice.

^This
I've never understood the problem people have with school - you piss about with your mates all day, short hours, long holidays, etc.
I think the "best days of your life" thing is misunderstood. My interpretation is that the rest of your life is going to be less fun (long hours, short holidays, working with cunts) that you need to make the most of your schooldays. I'm fairly content that I did.
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 11:48, Reply)
Croissant, madam?
Some of us didn't have a choice. It'd take a fairly special kind of teen to be content with the verbal shitkicking and misery that I got on a daily basis.
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 11:53, Reply)
^ This.
Not every child is in a happy place emotionally when they're at school, and many children are, in general terms, complete and utter little cunts who will pick up on any perceived weakness and exploit it to the max.
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 11:56, Reply)
They're the snivelling little fuckers I used to bully. ;-)

(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 11:59, Reply)
But if you weren't picked on, them it could be enjoyable
to be fair this place probably attracts more of the bullied than the ones in the middle
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 11:59, Reply)
Weaklings?

(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:00, Reply)
why do you think that is?
I was in the middle. As a fatty I got a surprisingly small amount of hassle. My brother was basically king of the school though...
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:00, Reply)
It's easy if you're the daddy.

(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:01, Reply)
Becasue the internet is full of socailly reartded, fat sweaty shut in virgins?

(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:01, Reply)
that isn't actually the case though

(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:04, Reply)
Ok to be fair some posters have had sex with their sisters
What did you mean then?
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:07, Reply)
I meant shut up

(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:09, Reply)
Because it's originally an arts community?
Thus attracting more people who are artistic, intelligent and think out side wthe box. Or as they were known at school, geeks nerds and benders.

Just a guess.
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:08, Reply)
that is probably about right

(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:09, Reply)
Of course it is, I said it.
The interesting question is why it attracts people who don't fit that demographic.
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:10, Reply)
bullying and such aside
And I didn't actually get much at all. As an adult I chose my own clothes and the people I associate with, people are, generally, bound by the rules of civilized conduct, if I don't like my job I can leave it and within it I have a fair degree of autonomy.

I enjoy all these things and I had none of them in school.
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 11:57, Reply)
That's because you live in New Cross Gate and everyone hates you.

(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:00, Reply)
Only you, only you.
Envy is a terrible thing.
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:06, Reply)
No, I hate you as well ;)

(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:07, Reply)
As I say envy is terrible.
It's OK though I have flaws, and if you try really hard one day you can be as awesome as me.
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:09, Reply)
Come back when you live in the 'Sham
and we'll talk.
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:10, Reply)
That'll be never then.
I think I'd rather be homeless.
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:11, Reply)
You will be when I torch your flat.

(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:12, Reply)
You'd have to find it first.

(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:14, Reply)
I found it 2 months ago.
I've been watching you through a camera.
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:15, Reply)
Cool, did you see where I left my cuff links?
Going mental looking for them.
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:17, Reply)
Up your bum?
Just a guess, like.
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:20, Reply)
*checks*
Nope.
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:23, Reply)
Hmm back to the drawing board then...
Wait, did you leave them on the drawing board?
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:24, Reply)
I do not own a drawing board
I suspect they are in the bedroom somewhere.
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:25, Reply)
Not as terrible as burning someone's flat down with them in it.

(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:08, Reply)
They've discovered Fire in Lewisham?
wow.
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:09, Reply)
Hahaha!
They are only using it on public litter bins currently.
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:10, Reply)
and in turkish restaurants

(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:12, Reply)
Baby steps.
They're still a bit in shock about this whole 'wheel' revelation.
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:12, Reply)
They have had that for a while.
You can't move for busses and the feral undercunts that use them.
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:14, Reply)
Playful sparing aside, I do feel for you.
Is Ladywell actually any nicer?
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:15, Reply)
Yeah, it's OK. Not much community spirit.
My road is nice and the surrounds are mostly nice.
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:17, Reply)
Probably cheap too
which, let's face it, is the main advantage of living in our area.
(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:18, Reply)
300k (asking price) for a two bed house on my road.

(, Thu 8 Sep 2011, 12:19, Reply)
No Idea TBH
Not looked at house prices in a while, but it sounds reasonable. Might be looking soon actually if I can convince myself I can afford the mortgage on what I want.
