Wild at Heart - I don't know why I just love it
Fave scene in a film is Dennis Hopper and Christopher Walkens scene in True Romance WATCH IT HERE

Quoting films is totally bent but I do it all the time

Worst film ever made, I'm not sure but I hated The War of the Worlds remake.

*Edit* Mindpiss!

it is fantastic, isn't it?
2 of my favourite actors doing what they do best.

War of the Worlds was complete and utter bilge.
Somebody, please, just knuckle down and do a decent, big budget version of the proper fucking story.

I just can't see them setting it in Surrey though.

Well they should.

Somebody lent me a copy of the live stage show of the Jeff Wayne version.
He said it was ace and I had to see it. That was about three years ago, and I still haven't got round to it yet.

I got my Dad tickets for it a few years ago.
He said it was excellent. I keep meaning to book it when it comes round but never do.

I remember listening to my dad's LP version of it
I was absolutely terrified. But the pictures were nice.

Yeah me too.
My Dad brought it back from Germany and played it to me. I thought it was fucking brilliant. I had it on tape for yonks, and it was the first CD I ever bought.

Preverably victorian surrey.

(, Tue 20 Sep 2011, 12:45, Reply)
That's what I meant.
The 1950's version, whilst not perfect, was OK. The new version was an opportunity to do a proper take on the original story, and they decided not to. The fighting machines were quite impressive, but that's about it.
(, Tue 20 Sep 2011, 12:47, Reply)
Mind you, The Time machine....

Haven't seen the remake.
I liked the original, although I confess to not having read the book. Always meant to.

Guy Pierce.
It's not bad, and it's fairly faithful to the book I think, although TBH I cannot remember how it ends. The book starts with one of the best lines ever: "The Time Traveller (for so it will be convenient to speak of him) was expounding a recondite matter to us."
(, Tue 20 Sep 2011, 12:54, Reply)
Most of the reviews I've seen said it was shit.

(, Tue 20 Sep 2011, 12:57, Reply)
The fact that I cannot remember most of it bares this out.

It was shit.

You should read the book
He has sex with Oina and everything.
(, Tue 20 Sep 2011, 12:55, Reply)
I might track down a copy.
I also enjoyed the Invisible Man. Apparently there's a remake in the works. It'll probably be awful.
(, Tue 20 Sep 2011, 12:57, Reply)
The Invisible Man
was an amazingly depressing book I thought. Excellent, but depressing.

If you can get your hands on "A Modern Utopia" it's well worth the read. It's astonishing how far ahead of his time Wells was.
