Not really...
not a lot, eating dinner an procrastinating about clearing up.

I'm watching Dont Tell The Bride on BBC3
and wondering what it is about weddings that turns women and their mothers into screaming harpies. We certainly never had this hassle when we planned ours.

Marriage is evil.
I'm going to have to be a best man next March, I'm dreading this.
(, Mon 26 Sep 2011, 19:28, Reply)
Marriage is fine
That was the bit I was excited about, more so than the wedding.
Having said that, we both got everything out of the day that we wanted. I didn't make him wear a suit, because he doesn't like suits, we incorporated a quiz and a massive piss up into teh day, and everyone was relaxed and happy. It was totally perfect.

What annoys me about 'some' girls is that they just go absolutely mental, insist that the day is ALL about them, and want to spiunk a year's mortgage on what is essentially a party dress.

Exactly
My very good mate spent about £25k on her wedding. It was a lovely day, but at the end of the day, it's just a day. That £25k would have been very handy when her hubby had to stop working for 18 months due to a shoulder injury sustained in Iraq.

Then again, the reason they could afford £25k was because his job was in Iraq.

I do sometimes wonder if I was meant to be a man

I'm really sorry I won't get to meet you at the weekend, Jeff.

I'll take pictures and send them your way if you like.

(, Mon 26 Sep 2011, 19:41, Reply)
Good-oh.
Make sure you get a candid one of him slipping one to some pissed up tramp's staffie.
(, Mon 26 Sep 2011, 19:42, Reply)
For bribery and corruption purposes, of course
not cheap gratification.
(, Mon 26 Sep 2011, 19:43, Reply)
As long as I get a copy for wanking purposes, that'll be fine.

(, Mon 26 Sep 2011, 19:44, Reply)
Will do.

(, Mon 26 Sep 2011, 19:43, Reply)
Good for you, glad it worked for you.
Maybe one day I shall be so lucky. I'd also substitute "most" for "some".
(, Mon 26 Sep 2011, 19:35, Reply)
My first marriage was just a trial run anyway.

(, Mon 26 Sep 2011, 19:35, Reply)
My mate;s dad said "don't marry your first wife, marry your second"
Of course he said it at his son's (first) wedding. Staggering lack of tact, but he was right.
(, Mon 26 Sep 2011, 19:38, Reply)
^ This. The first one doesn't really count.

(, Mon 26 Sep 2011, 19:38, Reply)
Oh, that's alright then.

(, Mon 26 Sep 2011, 19:39, Reply)
it's just for practice.

Evening Jeff.
Jeff, listen. I'm not happy, right? I'm not happy at all. Last night I left Steam downloading Empire: Total War. Downloaded about 6000 Megs, so I paused it so the Mrs could work from home using her VPN, and tonight, I go to start it up again, and it's lost that previous 6000 Meg and is starting again.

What's that all about Jeff? I mean, really Jeff, what's that about?

You all set for the weekend?
(, Mon 26 Sep 2011, 19:48, Reply)
It's about you being pussy whipped

(, Mon 26 Sep 2011, 19:48, Reply)
If it was your brother doing the whipping
i'd be perfectly happy with that.
(, Mon 26 Sep 2011, 19:50, Reply)
I haven't checked in the last thirty odd years
but I don't remember him having a pussy. He may have had one fitted since he was three, I guess.
(, Mon 26 Sep 2011, 19:51, Reply)

I reckon I'm fairly set for the weekend. My rough plan is to come to london, eat some nice food, get drunk and moan about any shit music I'm forced to listen to.
(, Mon 26 Sep 2011, 19:51, Reply)
That sounds like a good plan.
I reckon right, I reckon, if you get yourself 3, actually no, call it four, call it four. Get yourself 4 tins of lager, your choice of brand, I don't know what you prefer, but get 4 of them, and drink them at a rate of about 1 every three quarters of an hour on the train down, then when you arrive, you'll be perfectly drunk to really get stuck into a further 4 cans during dinner.
(, Mon 26 Sep 2011, 19:54, Reply)
Cans of lager....
I'd probably go for Stella. Although I could bring some cider with me.
(, Mon 26 Sep 2011, 19:56, Reply)
You could go for cider, you could
I'd say my only concern were that to be the case Jeff, is that, well, frankly you don't have a good track record, and with stella, well, you know where you are with Stella, but with cider. I don't know Jeff, I'm not sure you know where you are with cider.
(, Mon 26 Sep 2011, 19:57, Reply)
I'm more or less stopped drinking cider as it was giving me chest pains.
I'll get some fizzy-lager. Is there an offy near the restaurant? Obviously, I'll have my 'train' beer, but I'll want to get some cold ones in for the meal.
(, Mon 26 Sep 2011, 19:59, Reply)
There is an offy no more than 10 metres from the front door.

(, Mon 26 Sep 2011, 20:00, Reply)

(, Mon 26 Sep 2011, 20:01, Reply)
I hope one day you will be lucky enoughto marry me, yes.

(, Mon 26 Sep 2011, 19:36, Reply)
Steady on Lass, you're got the first one to get out of the way first.
