That looks really nice.
I like the cabin idea.

It's only about £15-£20 per person per night as well.
Awesome.

Very reasonable.
Do you have any plans while out there? You don't seem the type to veg on a beach.

I'm going to a wedding on that island,
So I'll be staying there for a up to a week. It's a nature reserve so there's trips up mountains and boat trips etc. I'll spend another week or maybe 10 days in Kuala Lumpur and maybe go into the rainforrest or maybe get a flight to bangkok, dunno yet, sorting out the first week at the moment.

and therefore fucking cool

Once you're over there flights around are really cheap.
So it's within my budget to see Singapore/bankok/cambodia/vietnam. It's just getting the time and finding cheap accomidation.

I have a friend who was in Singapore for quite a while, I can ask if she's got any tips, if you like?

Yeah sure, I don't know if I'll go that far south, because I'll have to get back to KL for the return flight but any advice is appreciated.

Alright, I'll drop her an email.

I found Singapore to be very westernised compared with say, Bangkok or Hong Kong.
It's very clean, very safe but just lacks the character of those other places.

A mate of mine took a sabbatical about ten years ago and went on a six month holiday to Thailand and Vietnam. He spent longer in Thailand but said he wished he'd had more time in Vietnam.

Yeah, Singapore isn't really a "must see" for me.

I spent three nights there.
It was enough, really.
