Giving up alcohol for 3 months
was pretty special for me. I had (unfounded) niggly doubts a few times that I had been drinking too much and was worried I couldn't stop.

Squashed those feelings like a boss.

Any reason for the giving up?

It was an diet exercise plan thing
Part for the diet was no alcohol. Very good way to take your mind off it. Plus the 8 pack reward was pretty handy.

I call bullshit on the 8 pack!

I can show you a picture if you really want?

(, Tue 27 Sep 2011, 12:12, Reply)
Nah, you're ok

(, Tue 27 Sep 2011, 12:15, Reply)
I've considered doing this recently.

The payoffs you get are amazing.
Took a week and a bit till I could stay up till 1 and bound out of bed at 7.30 no problem.

My skin was different within days. Very strange.

Downsides - going out/telling people you're not drinking. I ended up telling people I just didn't drink full stop. Much easier.

Going to the pub and not drinking is shit
I'd rather just not go. Everyone is a cunt when drunk and you are sober
(, Tue 27 Sep 2011, 12:13, Reply)
House parties were the worst
I ended up drinking Becks Blue just to get people to shut up and stop trying to give me spiked drinks.

Hahahaha

I've said to a friend that both her and I doing it would be a good idea.
She's my main drinking partner, and has admitted that giving it the boot for a bit would be a good idea.

Well done you.
worth it if only to prove you can.
(, Tue 27 Sep 2011, 12:04, Reply)
Not drinking at all is quite hard
It isn't until you stop completely that you notice what you actually did drink. Save a fucking fortune too

Well done
*pats on back in manly way*

This was the other thing I noticed
I had so much spare money I didn't know what to do with it! Very nice feeling.
(, Tue 27 Sep 2011, 12:09, Reply)
I got to the point where I'd have a couple of cans each night or a bottle of wine
It soon mounts up, both alcohol and cost wise!
(, Tue 27 Sep 2011, 12:12, Reply)
Yep!
I just stick to bingeing it all at weekends now.
(, Tue 27 Sep 2011, 12:13, Reply)
I'll probably have a bottle of red and a few cans at a weekend but I don't drink during the week
It is doing wonders for my waistline!
(, Tue 27 Sep 2011, 12:14, Reply)
I only ever drink at the weekends
so I am a classic binge drinker. I still refuse to believe that it's worse for me than drinking half a bottle of wine every night.
(, Tue 27 Sep 2011, 12:20, Reply)
I like this.

Pah
Breakfast.
(, Tue 27 Sep 2011, 12:21, Reply)
Not drinking makes me more miserable than the happiness I could derive from the weight loss
and extra cash
