Nothing new.
Still have an ear infection that leaves me 3/4 deaf and now my voice seems to be packing in too. It's getting fucking annoying being unable to communicate frankly and I'd like the antibiotics to start kicking arse now please.

It's likely that your infection is viral and that the antibiotics are doing nothing
apart from getting you out of your GP's hair.
I feel your pain though, I appear to have lost the hearing in my left ear and am currently waiting patiently for an appointment to have it syringed.

Fucking stupid GP then.
Not like I asked for antibiotics or anything.

I have this also, and really bad tinitus. I blame it on the drums.

I too blame drums, more specifically the drummer
Years of standing too close to cymbals has cut out high frequencies for me. That and watching notoriously loud bands without any ear protection.

Not good
However, if you were at a gig with me, wearing ear protection, I would be forced to mock you (loudly, as I'd gone deaf)
(, Thu 6 Oct 2011, 15:33, Reply)
I've been wearing ear plugs for years now
It actually makes the bands sound better as you can hear them play, rather than just have your ears shut down.

I didn't wear any when I saw MBV a couple of years back and couldn't hear for several days after.
I did wear some to watch Sunn o))) and Om, but unfortunately that only reduced the sound down to the level of the MBV gig (I tried a few seconds with one of them out and it was incredibly painful).
I have resolved to wear them to all future loud gigs.

I don't go to Green Day gigs

How long did the doc say it would take to shift?

(, Thu 6 Oct 2011, 15:22, Reply)
They said "If it's bacterial then it should be cleared up in a week, but if it's viral you could be looking at 2-3 weeks of feeling didgy"

(, Thu 6 Oct 2011, 15:24, Reply)
She didn't, just looked in my ear and gave me a prescription.
*reads al's post* Oh shit I hope it's not viral, I've had about enough of this, I'm getting nothing done but work and sleep.
