I had a disgustingly obseenly good deal from my favorite resturant in the whole wide centralish london.
I bought two lunch bento boxes, half price, for £5.20 total, I normally wouldn't get so much but today's bento box special is my absolute fave... tempora prawns (3), tempora veg (about 5) on a bed of rice, with a load of teryakki sauce, Soba Noodles (I'll leave them, it's too much and I don't like them cold)..... TIMES TWO
And as I was laughing and joking with the lady there (who always asks after me ma' ('cus I'm always on the phone to Ma' as I walk past at the end of the day)),
I said "Oh shit, I owe you a few quid, I forgot, sorry"... I hadn't been in for a couple of weeks "... how much do I owe you again?" so she goes "Don't worry about it" so I said "I'll tell you what, I'll put this into the tip jar (£3) Sun (three in japanese) Quid, that way we're all even".
she starts laughing and says "I forget, we have your favorite ! Fried Prawn ! Here... have this" and so I said "EBI KATSU ! MY FAVORITE !", so I have 3 huge prawns on a bed of rice too.
Then as I was leaving she said "Say 'hi' to your mum, love you, see you another day".

There is no way I'm going to eat even half of it tonight, but maybe for breakfast tomorow too. but OH BOY. I love being friendly to local shop keepers =D

I am jealous of your food, if not your ability to digest said food
Have you made your own teryakki sauce, easy and awesome

Nope, never done that, how do you do it?

I do a very simple, cupboard staples version
soy sauce
brown sugar
thinly sliced chillies
some ginger slices (take them out at the end)

thats it, reduce and pour over prwans and egg fried rice, happy days.

digest spell

I was cooking teriyaki beef the other day and I got some sauce on my fingers. Tasted just like bonfire toffee.

Ahhhh, I know why this is, I did the same thing over the weekend when I over-reduced some balsamic to quickly.
The mistake I made was that my reduction was too quick without enough sturing, the sugars solidfide the liquid.
