Cigarettes will eventually die out
and then, hilariously, the NHS will fall over.

Honestly, I don't want drugs legalised because I don't approve of them. That is the real answer for everybody that doesn't want them legalised, regardless of how they try to dress it up. All the logical arguments are in the pro camp. Aside from a few "we don't know what the long term effects are" arguments, but since when has that ever stopped us doing anything?

Man has been getting off his tits since he climbed down from the trees.
This is how religion was invented. By some hairy hominid eating a mushroom and seeing the sun God waving at him.

Mmm I love psilocybin mushrooms
I took full advantage a few years back when some clever chap exploited the (sadly now closed) loophole in the law that enabled them to be sold in high street shops.

They dont work for me
:o(

You've either been sold duds or are not taking enough, surely?

He told you, they don't work for him.
And don't call him Shirley.

On the basis of cause and effect, alcohol should definitely be banned.
Do you have someone in your family or a close friend that has had a drug problem?
(, Tue 10 Jan 2012, 10:40, Reply)
Yes it should, but it won't. It's too entrenched in our culture.
Nope. I don't know anybody with a drug *problem*, as such. I don't particularly enjoy being around people who are on drugs in much the same way as most sober people don't enjoy being around drunk people.

I am not even attempting to form a cogent argument here, because there isn't one. Whilst most people are like me and don't approve of drug use, the law won't change. Sorry.

Drugs are like Marmite.
You either love them or hate them.

...on toast

(, Tue 10 Jan 2012, 10:46, Reply)
Not after a cogent argument.
I have found people who just dislike drugs, as drugs, have a negative experience of them.

Being around people who are hammered (on whatever) is rubbish if you're not.
(, Tue 10 Jan 2012, 10:45, Reply)
Oh, well, I had a bad episode myself once
but I dealt with that by not taking them anymore. I'm not suggesting that everybody that doesn't approve has had a negative experience though. Just that most people don't and the Government plays the numbers game.

Spot on.
Never happen if it loses even a small number of votes.

Silly thing is that all illegal substances have been legal in the past and were made illegal in times when science was shit or the church had some input. Or something.

Can't think of anyone , no.

(, Tue 10 Jan 2012, 10:59, Reply)
I think we're pretty clued up on the long-term effects of most drugs.

(, Tue 10 Jan 2012, 10:40, Reply)
I'm agreeing with Kroney again.

(, Tue 10 Jan 2012, 10:58, Reply)
I think people who don't take drugs are great.
Means more for us.

Edit - I don't think taking drugs is big or clever but it can be fun if done with relative safety.
