This thread is a heap of shit.

Can this be true? Is lager on the wane?

Not in my fucking house it isn't. I also greatly enjoy ales, wines and spirits but and ice-cold Kirin Ichiban on a hot day is simply unbeatable for refreshment.
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:21, 5 replies, latest was 12 years ago)

Lager tastes like shit. Except the first chug of a cold bottle on a hot day. Cider wins for me or Gin and Tonic if I'm gaying it up.
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:25, Reply)
Nowt gay about a g'n't.

I'm a big fan of mixing Robbinsons with tap water.

(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:25, Reply)

I prefer Ribena. Especially the new apple and raspberry Ribena.
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:26, Reply)
Ribena tastes nicer but it's too expensive, you need like 1/4 of your glass to be cordial compared to like 1/16th on robbinsons.
Apple'n'Rasberry sounds good though.
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:29, Reply)

Sainsburys have it at half price so I stocked up. Otherwise it's own brand lemon squash!
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:30, Reply)
Far too sweet, Vimto is better

(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:29, Reply)

Vimto has far too much "north" in it.
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:30, Reply)

and it's only as sweet as you make it.Oh and Liverpool 1 - Arsenal 2
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:31, Reply)
Aye, I know
Annoying result, as we outplayed you, but once again we simply don't have it in front of goal.
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:31, Reply)

We scored all three. And Suarez is a disgrace. He might be talented but what a fucking cunt of a human.
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:32, Reply)
For what this time?
If you're referring to the penalty, his amateur dramatics were pathetic and annoying, but it was a penalty.
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:34, Reply)

He dives every game, and it wasn't a penalty. Alan Shearer said so. He is just a nasty, racist, horrible little scrote who is on my punch on sight list.
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:35, Reply)
I'm not going to go into the racism argument.
However, it was a penalty, the contact on the shin to shin was clear, and every match analyst who watched it agreed.
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:36, Reply)

Well they didn't actually, Shearer didn't and Soccer Saturday was mixed. It was a fucking dive after minimal contact and the ball had left the vicinity. And you won't get involved with the racism because you know it's true.
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:38, Reply)
No, I won't get into the racism argument because no-one knows if it's true, the FA couldn't even get beyond reasonable doubt
It came down to character vs character. If there was any evidence, it would have been a criminal charge, like Terry is currently in now. However, there wasn't. Fact is, it's done, the ban has been served, time to move on.

Did you watch the game live, or only the results in the evening? After the match, when they were reviewing footage, they all agreed there was contact, but that Suarez overreacted.
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:41, Reply)
I watched it live, yeah there was minimal contact and he didn't over react, he simulated.
Should have been booked. But it doesn't matter as you lost and have no chance of getting 4th now.
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:42, Reply)

you your team
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:43, Reply)

why are you still reading you monumental fucktard? Honestly spakkers you're no better than Quentin.
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:44, Reply)
Still contact though, as you admit.
And if there is contact, it's not simulation.

And yes, we lost, ah well. We're a work in progress team, and whilst it would have been nice to beat you, as we were all over you, we showed once again that we are still missing several key links.
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:44, Reply)

I think I'mmainly upset that you didn't like Warrior. If RVP stays and AW buys they will be ok again next year. There's a lot of shit to let go of though.
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:46, Reply)
What Liverpool should do is sign one world class player and then rely on him completely
Then they'd manage to overachieve properly
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:46, Reply)
it is, because he went down prior to the contact and the contact only happened because he fell over, not in spite of it

(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:54, Reply)
I AGREE WITH WHAT YOU ARE SAYING HERE
I STILL DISLIKE THE SCOUSE ACCENT THOUGH
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:43, Reply)
no, it didn't come down to character.
nobody in the case, including Suarez, disputes what he said. He merely claimed he didn't realise it was racist. Which isn't the greatest defence in the world, really.

and it wasn't a penalty because even if there was contact he was going down first. So says pretty much every single pundit I've read or seen since, including the game itself.
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:47, Reply)

URMEYEHEROW!
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:48, Reply)
well, I don't actually think that Suarez is racist
more that he's an idiot who said something stupid that happened to be racist. However, the way Liverpool handled it rather than just manning the fuck up and accepting what was a pretty lenient ban for racism was nothing short of pathetic.
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:53, Reply)
I feel the entire thing was overshadowed by Sepp Blatter's comments
I am also of the opinion that if there was evidence showing that what Evra alleges Suarez said was true, then I'd support the ban also.
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:56, Reply)
suarez agrees he said it!
neither party dispute that, ffs. the dispute was over how many times he said it. suarez's defence was merely he didn't know how offensive it was, and that Evra started it by insulting his sister. a defence only slighty flawed by the small matter of him not having one.
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 14:00, Reply)
Suarez admitted to saying 'Negrito', not 'Negro'
In the case, admitted he couldn't be sure (I believe)
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 14:02, Reply)
no, he admitted saying Negro
"Suárez had claimed that his use of the word 'negro' to address Evra was conciliatory and friendly, but the FA rejected this claim as being "unsustainable and simply incredible given that the players were engaged in an acrimonious argument"

did you read the FA report or just the Liverpool website?
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 14:04, Reply)
Yes, I've read the FA report, have it open as we speak too.
Allow me to clarify what I meant. When I said about Suarez admitting the use of the word 'negrito', that was before he was charged, and it can be argued that if he hadn't given them that ammunition, it's been argued that they might not have even been able to present a case, as their evidence was weak.

However, Suarez admittal of using the word 'negrito' arguably lead to the charge being levelled against him a few days later.

What followed was one man vs another. Not helping that fact is that Suarez is clearly a fucking idiot.

However, as whoever that is below puts it, I'm making myself look a tool no matter what I say, so I shall go back to the opinion I had before, and that's that I don't have an opinion.
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 14:17, Reply)
AA, please bear in mind that I give not one shit about either (or any) team here
And that I like you personally. But, please give it up, trying to argue what you arguing, based even just on the facts you agree to is really fucking pathetic and makes you look like a tit.

SOrry dude.

*buts out*

I didn't think Latin was racist
as racism hadn't been invented yet?
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 14:04, Reply)
I'm also intrigued in any case
as to how calling him "little black man" is defensively better than "black man"
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 14:08, Reply)
It's an affectionate term, as Hernandez shows here by calling a teammate it
www.chivascampeon.com/noticia/2009/

However, that was between friends. The question as to whether it can be used as a non-affectionate term wasn't addressed
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 14:16, Reply)
it was addressed
by having a panel of Spanish language experts analyse it.
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 14:26, Reply)
what did he say?

(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 14:02, Reply)
he called him black in an argument
like I said, I don't actually think he is racist, just a stupid fucking idiot.
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 14:07, Reply)
He's a footballer, of course he is a fucking idiot

(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 14:13, Reply)
He's definitely a stupid fucking idiot, I'll agree with you on that

(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 14:17, Reply)
and his ban was lenient
so what exactly are you arguing here?

edit - ah, you aren't any more. Cool so.
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 14:27, Reply)
footballer in being dick shocker!

(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:51, Reply)
Apart from AA, I do think Liverpool fans are the most deluded. Some of the comments on Teamtalk
are amazing. And Kenny has his head well and truly in the sand.

If it is, maybe they'll drop the price a little
Would be nice, anyway.

I certainly agree with you on the refreshment front, but in terms of flavour, I find that I far prefer ales over lagers. I had a lovely bottle of Fursty Ferret last night, that was rather nice.
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:27, Reply)
That's a nice one. Not that I know shit about ale.

(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:33, Reply)
not with me it isn't, either

(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:27, Reply)
yeah, but they ain't talking about lager, not prober lager
A good lager even I will enjoy, but they mean fosters carling and suchlike shite and it's on it's way out because more decent beer is available and thank fuck for that.
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:37, Reply)
I read that due to strength-based taxation
a number of the so-called premium lager producers were planning on/considering dropping a percentage point (or half a one) to increase profits.
(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:44, Reply)
tough decision as that will alter the flavour

(, Mon 5 Mar 2012, 13:45, Reply)
With the right marketing, the plebs will lap it up.
After all, they were convinced that lager could be "premium" in the first place and happily paid more for it.
