My housemate is vegan and I needed to nick some of his tomatoes.
Lentils, chickpeas, fresh corriander. Curries are the easiest thing to do vegan and still be nice.

I stole a Roadworks sign last week, does that count?
I just got told I'm allergic to wheat gluten about three weeks ago. This means no more gluten in my diet - which means no more fun stuff like biscuits or cakes unless I make them myself.

have you been eating wheat up until this point?
If so, the fact that you aren't dead or constantly in hospital means you aren't allergic to gluten.
Soz.

actually you can develop allergies.
My sister wasn't diagnosed with a gluten allergy until she was nearly 25. Same deal as me, started feeling unwell about 12 months previously, nothing fixed it. Got blood tests, negative for the gene but positive for the antibodies. I had the same thing happen. So, actually yeah I am allergic, I'm just not "anaphylactic" allergic.
Soz.

anaphylactic omega gliadin allergy is extraordinarily rare.
I didn't mean that. Gluten allergy itself presents almost always as coeliac disease, which was what I was referring to, and I assume you don't have. Yes, it's possible to develop wheat allergies, but removing gluten from the diet is almost always irrelevant as wheat allergies and gluten intolerance are almost always entirely different things.

"gluten intolerance" is one of my pet fucking hates.
There's not really such a thing. Getting a bout of windypops and hurty tummy after crowbarring in half a sliced loaf is a sign you're a fucking glutten, not of gluten intolerance.
Wheat allergies are different, and I'm not saying Poppet doesn't have one of those (although they are almost impossible to diagnose because the antibody responses are so generic and crypto-allergies are diagnosed all the time) but they don't stop you eating gluten. The problem these days is that even GPs are willing to subscribe to pseudo-woo "nutritionist" bullshit because it makes their lives easier, because the the public have been brainwashed by unqualifed, idiotic fucktards like McKeith and her ilk.

Hey don't stress, I've never been one to eat half a loaf at once! Nor put much stock in Gillian McKeith.
I've always had a stupidly healthy diet which only occasionally has moments of gluttony or indulging. I think that almost everything in moderation is okay. But I've been feeling sick for twelve months, and have tried coming off both my medications, separately, and had no change. The only thing that has changed how I've been feeling is removing all wheat and gluten from my diet.

well considering that every time I've eaten something with wheat in it for the last twelve months, I've been experiencing massive cramps, bloating, nausea and headaches.
And the fact that cutting wheat and gluten entirely out of my diet has completely stopped me from feeling like this when I eat, even though it's only been three weeks, and the fact that my doctor says that I have a gluten and/or a wheat allergy, I'm going to take his word over yours! :)

If it's a wheat allergy
try other grains. I'm not asking you to take my word for it. I'm some prick off the internet. All I'm saying is that gluten and wheat allergies are very different things.

I can have rye, quinoa, oats, and just about anything else.
As soon as wheat enters the equation I feel awful.

Cool
it's probably wheat that's the issue, then. Rye has a fair amount of gluten in it. It's also almost impossible to get oats that aren't contaminated with wheat gluten at low levels.

I know, hence why just cutting gluten out of my diet is easier than trying to pick and choose which foods are okay.
I pretty much have just been looking at the pack and if it says "May contain traces of gluten" I put it back on the shelf.
