I'm going to see Kroney so we can talk shop about my new career in "IT"

(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 12:09, 2 replies, latest was 13 years ago)
The first subject being "What does IT actually stand for?"

(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 12:10, Reply)
Interesting technology, everyone knows that.

(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 12:11, Reply)

(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 12:15, Reply)
it's also going to annoy you that every single clock is wrong

(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 12:18, Reply)
Again?
I thought you got a man in to fix that.

(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 12:41, Reply)
Do you know what operating system it uses?
Please say yes.
(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 12:41, Reply)
sounds like a digital one to me

(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 12:43, Reply)
Given her history of buying crap because it was pretty, I'm going to guess OSX?

(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 12:45, Reply)
I think her laptop's a Dell, so it'll be Windows of some description.
At least I hope it is, I can make a boot disc.
(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 12:50, Reply)
You ever used Hiren's BootCD?
Handy little tool to have, I've found.

Not as much use as a proper boot disc, mind, but still has it's uses (often in backing up)
(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 12:56, Reply)
I always hate it when you IT guys ask that.

(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 12:53, Reply)
I'll have a look.
I've totally forgotten what you were complaining about, though.
(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 12:15, Reply)
it's dead
you turn it on and it says "disk read error" on a black screen and nothing else
(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 12:17, Reply)
you need to RAM it more then reset the mainframe with a "trojan reset"

(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 12:18, Reply)
That means it can't see the hard disk
So that's probably because it's dead, dying, or the connections are screwy.
(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 12:18, Reply)
easy fix, remove the bottom of the laptop and simply add a web cam and pointing at the hard disk

(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 12:20, Reply)
Good to see I'm not the only one here who knows what they're talking about

(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 12:20, Reply)
sometimes I worry about this lot

(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 12:22, Reply)
:(((((((

(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 12:21, Reply)
I was waiting for a "chins" comment...

(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 12:29, Reply)
can you not just buy 3 new ones?

(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 12:18, Reply)
i like this one
it's pink and shiny
(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 12:19, Reply)
i don't think Kroney is qualified to fix that

(, Wed 28 Nov 2012, 12:20, Reply)
Oh, good.
