Okay, here's some CV CHAT
Colour in CVs - a good thing or not?

I'm not talking about pretty pictures or coloured text; just some colour blocks to highlight and make it stand out.

Email me a copy if you'd like me to review it.

Bad.

See, I'm getting contradictory opinions on this.
Some people are saying 'yes, it's a good thing, if recruiters only give each CV 30 seconds then yours will stand out' and others are saying 'no, it's best to stick to the traditional style or people won't take you seriously'.

I guess it's a matter of personal taste for each recruiter.

You'll look like a waqqui prick.

Yeah it probably depends
But for me I'd worry that my CV would look like a child's one.

I guess it depends which kind of job you're going for, media cunts probably lap all that coloured shit up

Almost as bad as using Comic Sans.

(, Thu 7 Mar 2013, 11:19, Reply)
I'm using Arial. Is that okay?

(, Thu 7 Mar 2013, 11:21, Reply)
Yes. Other acceptable alternatives are Calibri. But not Times New Roman.

(, Thu 7 Mar 2013, 11:27, Reply)
So sans serif but no sans.
Where do you stand on wingdings?

the worst cv we ever got was multi page and he'd done his own HIGH END GAMING reviews in the back with his own screenshots
all things like 'lord of the rings online, verdict: FUN. diablo II, verdict: GOOD'

This doesn't answer your question but it made me remember that cv so thank you xx

I was sent one in pencil once.
Pencil, on a page torn from a lined pad.

Hired him immediately, obv.

Just make sure you include plenty of clip art.
The more the better really.
(, Thu 7 Mar 2013, 11:24, Reply)
It really depends on the job role. Head of international finance at Barclays, no colour
Childrens entertainer, yes colour.

If it's for design work, you should do an infographic instead of a CV.
Use something like this: piktochart.com/
