Killswitch Engage started well, then went downhill quickly.
They've just gone back to their original singer though, hoping they improve again.

Bullet For My Valentine managed to improve massively from their early stuff, but they're still very much hit and miss.

Suffocation's new stuff doesn't sound anything close to as good as their old stuff, they sound like they've gone soft.

Cannibal Corpse stuff has got better over time, but my favourite track of theirs is still one of the old ones.

BFMV's first album is fucking brilliant
Less hit and miss, I would have said, than Scream Aim Fire

Their first album was gash.
At least by the time Scream Aim Fire came out, they'd realised that they couldn't continue to whimper like little girls, and actually worked on learning to play their instruments.

Always a bonus for a musical ensemble.

I'm not sure I actually agree with this.
On the one hand: snotty teenage mid-60s garage punk bands, on the other Emerson Lake and Palmer.
(, Tue 19 Mar 2013, 14:19, Reply)
This is quite true
Although you could argue that some of the snotty teenage mid-60s garage punk bands turned out to be quite good because one of their members grew up to be Emerson, Lake or Palmer.
(, Tue 19 Mar 2013, 14:24, Reply)
You could argue that, but you would lose the argument pretty quickly.

(, Tue 19 Mar 2013, 14:28, Reply)
I wasn't going to argue that.
Just saying that you could.

Explain "Bittersweet Memories" then smartarse
that was on SAF and was the worst kind of emo shite. Also, explain the chorus lyrics to "Hearts Burst Into Fire". Is Matt Tuck a fucking Time Lord or summat?
(, Tue 19 Mar 2013, 14:16, Reply)
I haven't listened to the album well enough to know different tracks off it
Is it as emo as 'All these things I hate'?

The only good track I'll accept off the first album is 'Tears Don't Fall', although it does have a remarkably gay title.
(, Tue 19 Mar 2013, 14:18, Reply)
As emo, yeah, but not as good a song musically. At least All these Things I Hate is moshable.
Just Another Star, which is actually from an EP predating The Poison, is my favourite song of theirs. Absolute belter.

all of these bands are shit
hth xx

He's right, "Ben Fogle" (IITIYRN)
You are shit.
(, Tue 19 Mar 2013, 14:18, Reply)
I think you should listen to Fogesy here guys.
He's making a valid point.
(, Tue 19 Mar 2013, 14:20, Reply)
I didn't want to get too bogged down in detail, but i think the point is valid

(, Tue 19 Mar 2013, 14:22, Reply)
Basically, death metal bands are all shit.
Bar Napalm Death. They're merely amusingly bad.

They are fucking awful
Shane Embury is absolutely massive, though.
(, Tue 19 Mar 2013, 14:29, Reply)
Cannibal Corpse are basically what you get when you cross Napalm Death with Sickipedia.
I bet they all finger kids as well.
(, Tue 19 Mar 2013, 14:34, Reply)
The fact that they are able to have a laugh now improves them, somewhat
They seem to know full well that the messages of their songs are crap, so have some fun with it. The singers 'actions' to Fucked With A Knife made me chuckle.
(, Tue 19 Mar 2013, 14:38, Reply)
Lawnmower Deth are the best death metal band.

(, Tue 19 Mar 2013, 14:30, Reply)
Cannibal Corpse, for me.

I used to go to see Napalm Death all the time when I were a lad
This was in the Lee Dorrian days. He's a good egg.
(, Tue 19 Mar 2013, 14:31, Reply)
I went to see them once at Chelmsford Army And Navy.
They were awful, but hilarious.

I'm fairly certain that they now this as well.
(, Tue 19 Mar 2013, 14:36, Reply)
Last time I saw them two things of note happened:
1. their fat bassist got pissed off with someone shouting out that he was a 'fat bastard', jumped off the stage and chinned him
2. my mate Biddy threw up all over the mixing desk
