I'd say you need better friends.

probably, one of them had a go for referring to someone as a twat.
Apparently that's disrespectful towards women. So I called him a dick, and he seemed ok with that.

I just had a look and I see one of them is using 'cisgendered' like it's a real thing
Delete him man, delete him now

what does that word mean?

(, Wed 10 Apr 2013, 15:49, Reply)
not transgendered
so born into the body that fits you gender. AKA normal. I do understand the reason the word exists, to avoid calling the transgendered abnormal, but it's still a red flag....
(, Wed 10 Apr 2013, 15:51, Reply)
I don't understand this at all

(, Wed 10 Apr 2013, 15:54, Reply)
some men have a winky and some men have a noo noo
that's as far as I got in medical school
(, Wed 10 Apr 2013, 16:05, Reply)
Yeah I get that, but I don't really see why transgendered is a thing either
I mean I do, but if you want to be a woman, cool, you're now a woman, why stick with the trans label. Surely you want to be a woman, not 'trans'. I dunno. I'm not affected by it, so I'm not part of the community and I don't understand the horrors that some of these people have been through, but I thought the whole point of everything was inclusion, not exclusion. But like I say I dunno. I just don't wanna upset people really.

it's long and complicated
and I'm not going to try and speak for the differently gendered, generally I'm just glad it doesn't affect me and I try not to cause offence.

(, Wed 10 Apr 2013, 15:58, Reply)
Yeah, I've never had it explained to me particularly well
I'm just glad life for me is dead simple and I try to piss off as few people as possible.
The trans lady who worked with us for example, I'd give her a good perv like I would any lady, just to make her feel at home.

I reckon the T part of LGBT is like that mate of yours who nobody minds but nobody really knows why they're in the group

(, Wed 10 Apr 2013, 15:58, Reply)
Right so we've got transgendered, so you were born summat and you felt wrong and identified as summat else so you changed, fair enough
But the problem with that is that what do you call people who don't do that, well 'normal' is exclusionary, so they started using 'cisgndered' as cis is the opposite to trans in latin

I don't understand any of it meself. I just like a pint and a curry.

So you wish you had a fanny but for now you have a willy?

(, Wed 10 Apr 2013, 15:55, Reply)
No I have a willy and I'm happy with that cos I can put it in things like cinderblocks and cups of warm tea and a ham sandwich

(, Wed 10 Apr 2013, 15:51, Reply)
Nope.
it means, you, me boyce, oh, OK you have a point
(, Wed 10 Apr 2013, 15:52, Reply)
Do you refer to yourself as cisgendered?

(, Wed 10 Apr 2013, 15:53, Reply)
god no, why would I?
however, taking the term at it's literal definition it does apply to me.
(, Wed 10 Apr 2013, 16:00, Reply)
Then my point stands.

(, Wed 10 Apr 2013, 16:01, Reply)
not sure what your point is to be honest.

(, Wed 10 Apr 2013, 16:20, Reply)
