It's just being
one of those days.

In England after the polo match they stomp the divots, hopefully avoiding the steaming ones. But over here, the steaming divots stomp YOU!
(, Mon 28 Jul 2008, 19:47, Reply)
I just googled that
and I still don't really know what it means. What's happened today loon?
(, Mon 28 Jul 2008, 19:49, Reply)
Steaming divots
were something referenced in "Pretty Woman".

Also, from some website called Grass Clippings: "The highlight of each polo game is the mid game 'divoting' where the chunks of turf torn from the surface by the fast moving polo ponies hoofs' are pressed back into the surface to repair the pitch. Even the Ladies in their high heels have a bash at it. To watch this spectacle of mass divoting is just so amusing especially when someone tries to press in a 'steaming divot'."

It's just being one of those days. I'm writing Bills Of Materials (BOMs) and it's making me crazy. Also I share an office with three other people who are working on the shit-fired power plant project, making it damn near impossible to concentrate as they're discussing it constantly. (As they should- nothing against them or their conversations, as it's thoroughly needed, but it's still hard to work with.)
(, Mon 28 Jul 2008, 19:54, Reply)
Ah, I see...
We've all had those days, Loon old boy. Hope you can get through it ok!

We're going to have a hedgehog storyboard at work as I played with photoshop yesterday and made the phone pictures I had look more recognisable. Got to write the sodding thing up though so it's not too scary for kids and it's going to be tough finding the right words.

@ Becky - Poor Excuse!
Who needs a liver anyway?
(, Mon 28 Jul 2008, 21:12, Reply)
I've never been camping in my life
When I was young I never had the inclination, then once I was of the mind that it might be quite fun, I was able to afford a hotel room, so always went for the comfortable option.
(, Mon 28 Jul 2008, 21:13, Reply)
But camping is fuuuunnnnnn
Even when it pisses down. I'm all about the sleeping under the stars, getting pissed and cooking round a campfire. Don't knock it til you've tried it :)

Edit: Livers are useful things to have Ethel.

Heading off for a bit to find food and write up the hedgehog
(, Mon 28 Jul 2008, 21:15, Reply)
I'm not knocking it at all
I'm just admitting my laziness and general reluctance to spend the night on the ground with beasties crawling about my person!

It would actually be quite fun, most likely.

I need help.
I've just bought a new ipod nano. Will it download my current ipod music list or do I have to re-load all my music onto a new list?
(, Mon 28 Jul 2008, 21:19, Reply)
ello all!
Everyone well?
(, Mon 28 Jul 2008, 21:19, Reply)
It should import your old music.
When my iPod Touch died and I got another one, it was able to just shoot the music right out to the new one no problem.

Good thing too, as it's saving my sanity right now...

^Yay and Woo.

I have added myself to your party list (bash-ho that I am!) but I'm sure you're not wanting to spend an evening in London with just an old woman for company. Perhaps we can round some others up - where are you staying while you're here?

Hello Becky, except you've gone again. Hello 'Lust! Oh, and Edmund! Everyone's wandering in.

Edmund, I remember you.
We bonded over the shipping forecast many moons ago.

Help please
I've just remembered something I was going to ask earlier today. I'm using word 2007 to write up this report and my computer is running vista. The computers at work which I'll be printing this out from run on XP and have an older version of word (not sure which one). How can I save this so that I won't have to reformat it or do lots of annoying tweaks to it when I open it up on on of their computers please?

Also, does anyone know how to sharpen up a specific area on a photo using photoshop please?
(, Mon 28 Jul 2008, 21:39, Reply)
Word 2007
You can click on the 'Orb' in the top left hand corner, and click on "Save As", select "Word 97 - 2003"
(, Mon 28 Jul 2008, 21:41, Reply)
@becky
You can do Save As, and where it says File Type you can click the pull down menu and save it as an older version. The older machine should recognize it.
(, Mon 28 Jul 2008, 21:43, Reply)
Fabulous
Many thank yous both of you xx

Goodnight youngsters and merkins.
See you tomorrow.

*returns*
Just been on the phone for 40 minutes, which is unlike me.

@Becky - to sharpen up a specific area in Photoshop, you first need to mask or select it. Masking gives the best results, but you can use the magnetic lasso tool to select an area and then apply the filter.

Why would you need to sharpen a hedgehog though?

*chuckles*

*realises everyone else is shaking their heads*

*fades into background*

Angus, thongs etc - why?
(, Mon 28 Jul 2008, 22:31, Reply)
because
the books are the best thing, ever! they are scream out loud, embarrass yourself laughing like a loon on the tube, funny. if you were a teenage girl in a girly gang at school like i was, anyway...

also, they should be compulsory reading for 14 year old boys. there would be no more misunderstandings between the sexes if men read those books and learned how girls think. they are the law!!!!

having said that, the film is ok. some good bits, but mostly made me snarl as the books are so much better...
(, Mon 28 Jul 2008, 22:35, Reply)
Were you a teenage girl in a girly gang, Wookie?
