I'm just off down the shop to see if I can find jelly tots to use as boobies! (Not for me, for the gingerbread)

I think this QOTW might have been designed for some of the veterinary horror stories I could post. Will check my diary and see what stories I can tweak to retain client confidentiality and post at the weekend.

All I need is sex and I'd be as happy as a pig in shit.

Feeling slightly scarred after hot water splashed in my face while I was making tea. It looks like a really big spot.

I had sushi for the first time EVER today, and it was tiny but tasty. I did a lot of filing, except the database went down mid-morning and none of what I scanned got logged :( so I did a lot of data entry instead. Wah.
Still no word from the letting agent and Mr Maladicta is very low :( there are no jobs in Ashford he's capable of doing, apparently.

^ The sushi
was from WH Smith in Waterloo station, called Manga. It was lully.
Mr Maladicta is struggling because he's not very well qualified (he hated schol and was bullied a lot, so didn't do anywhere near as well as he could have, so he has a handful of Ds and Es at GCSE) and has only ever worked in retail. He's good with people, very well trained with tills, and enjoys being busy. He is also housetrained.

I went from a large 18 to a 14 - 16 (more towards the 16 being honest) by eating lunch.
Because I was so stressed though my training I decided that I couldn't cope with remembering to take lunch with me every day. So I had school dinners, including apple crumble and custard!
I then had less for dinner.

We've looked into him retaking things lately; it looks kind of pricey though and as we're in the middle of trying to move we may have to put it off till we get settled in Ashford :( it would be good for him; he hates the way his CV looks at the moment. I'm going to have to ask him about agencies, but I don't think he's too keen on the idea, sadly; if it's not going to be regular work to pay the bills we may come unstuck, but the job he's in is literally sending him insane and it's killng me to see it :(

Thanks both - you can keep up with expedition prep at duesouth2009 dot com. The aim's to raise £100,000 for three charities as I'm funding the exped costs out of my own pocket.
BGB - believe me I'll be keeping warm! I've done a few long walks in the arctic and antarctic before.
PoD - you'd be welcome to come with me but it's a solo and unsupported trip. I can put you in touch with a friend of mine who organises group trips?
MrsL - thanks, it's been two years in planning and the closer I get to it the scarier it becomes, esp as a couple of weeks ago I was out for a run and gave myself a hurt :( but it's OK now, just being careful and not running more than 8 miles in any one run until i'm properly well.

I retook my maths at the cost of £120. Which is not cheap but worth the money in my opinion.
The agency I used found me full time work, not temping.

^ That's not as bad as some of them I've seen.
We looked into getting his maths and English up to a better standard and one college wanted £800 out of him for a couple of hours a week!
Agencies round these parts haven't been too successful for me; they tend to forget about you after a while, but I think he's willing to take anything that's not his current job :(

I try to run, I can do about 2k at the gym but on the road I'm dead after about 2 metres.

My boss has just apparently started trying to keep fit, and as a result sprained her ankle at the beginning of the week. That's what exercise will do for you.
Then again, gets a nice adrenaline rush.
Hope I can still do that kinda thing when I'm that age Ed.

33 is still relatively young. Try losing weight after 40. It's a bloody nightmare unless I starve myself and exercise like a demon which I refuse to do.
Ah well! onwards and upwards.
Edit - I can power walk for miles and miles but can only run for about 10 minutes.
Sorry Miss Bin....just realised it should be Mrs Bin.

This was the local 6th form college that charges £120, and that was for a GCSE.
With the agency I just kept bothering them. They got so fed up with me, but I got a job.

Where do you run? Is it in the middle of a city or out in the countryside? I try running on the treadmill and it bores me senseless so I always run (slowly - more of a jog than a run, truth be told) on a mix of street circuits and parks. Obviously not an option in the dark for you as a lady!
Edit: Oh, and age TOTALLY counts. I feel buggered after a long run!

In the street's good, but maybe running around a park would be good too, plus altering your course so you're not doing the same route all the time might help too?
If you're going to come back to it I can only advise you not to come back too soon - i.e., don't suddenly try to run 5 miles if you've been walking

I tried to retake my Latin A-level to get it up to a B and the local college wouldn't let me :( I was gutted!
I think we need to better check out the agencies both here and in Ashford; I never had any luck with the ones in Canterbury but we might have more luck with him. I'd just like anything that will make him happy. He applied for a shop job last night and already got told he was unsuccessful, so he's in a foul mood about everything and it makes me worry :(

Try this:
1. Put your hands behind your head and stretch out your elbows as far as they'll go (thus stretching the diaphragm (no laughing there either))
2. Close your eyes
3. Breathe in through your nose
4. Breathe out through your mouth
And don't run if you don't want to - walk!

Sex is good for burning calories but as my

Ladies and Gents
It's go-for-a-shower, get-dressed, have-a-leisurely-breakfast and then wander-into-work-whistling-a-happy-tune time for me.
And it's raining very heavily here today as well. Oh well.

@Edmund:
Or did you get up early?
EDIT: If you've postponed the hangover, that must mean you're still drunk.

Bah. I have to wash my hair before tomorrow to meet you lovely b3tans
after work too, and somehow it always ends up being 11.30. And I need cash on the way to work too.

Right kids, and adults
I'm away to that bed place. My eyes are starting to close themselves.
Night all.

I've missed all the fun
Too much basking in the reflective glow of winning QOTW follwed by a Buffy the Vampire Slayer fest will do that...
Ah well, off to bed for me too. It's been a tiring day, y'know.

Hate's too strong a word
In fact, I'm kinda liking it today. The biggest pain in the arse that I had has been fired ... w00t! Plus, it's another day closer to me getting to come home (double-w00t!)

I guess the excitment
of being in HK must have worn off by now.
Good that the twunt in your office has gone. Working with good people can make a shitty job fun.

'fraid so.
This is my seventh time here this year. I do 2-3 weeks a month here and the remainder of the time in London. The novelty wore off ages ago, I'm afraid.
The twunt who's been fired is actually the reason I'm here: I designed something really boring but a bit clever for them and he decided to take it to pieces to reverse engineer a new one ... and then couldn't put it back together.
So when I've been putting it back together I've put a little special message into it, a little .mp4 file of HAL9000 (with my voice) saying "I don't think you want to be doing this".

Geek, y'say? Excellent ... :)
It's a genetic algorithm to predict market movements and bond pricing against multiple markets trading the different tranches of the same bonds.
Told you it was boring!
So how geeky are you? I'm a maths nut, I'm afraid.

Hell
I only understood one word in three.
I'm about 3/4 geek.
I retook my maths GCSE and got to really love maths.
Now I've started to teach maths and the way it works has all changed.

sorry. I wasted 10 years of my life at uni because I couldn't be bothered to go get a job and thus ended up with a PhD, practically all maths :)

But you've got a good job now though.
So it was all worth while in the end.
10 years at uni, that's good going.

It's a reasonable job
and it's my own company :) so it's OK. Plus I employ six other people, all of them super-smart who intimidate me with their intelligence!
