By elections always have results which are distorted. I can't see UKIP getting any MPs at the next general election. Maybe a couple at most.

If the next parliament is hung, I can see Labour going into coalition with the Lib Dems, minus Clegg and Alexander.
Then again, the LDs will probably lose even more seats than last time.

I think UKIP are swivel eyed loons (viz the recent 'gays are causing floods' fiasco) but the protest vote used to be LibDem - but as they're (for now) more mainstream there ain't nobody else to vote for.
