I was about 9 when I went and still had a sense of foreboding.
and that was before they were begging people to go for free.
I'm sure "Its a Small World" had real kids chained up.

I think I'd prefer to be on the side of the sneerers though
And that wouldn't be possible with the French one.
Easiest thing would be to not ever visit any of them.
