I'm here, a little shaky but ok!

Me, DG and Tourette's went for another drink in Aldgate (I heroically got off the train saying words like "It's ok, there'll be another train and/or a night bus!".

I left them at approximately 12.30. I arrived home (In Leytonstone - not far!) at 3.00. 2 and a half hours, which contained:

* A guy yelling 'fuckin' POOFTAH!" out of a car at me, and then pulling over, getting out and threatening to kick the shit out of me. I guess I was gay by virtue of walking down the road on my own. My Jackie Chan instincts kicked in and I ran the hell away.

* FINALLY managing to hail a cab, only to be thrown out of it by six Irish Navvies cos the cabbie would make more money!

* Getting completely lost in a really rough area, getting propositioned by an old rough whore. More running away ensued.

* A complete inability to find my night bus. When I eventually did find the right stop, the bus I needed was pulling away. The sign that said 'N8 every 10 mins' was a lie. I sat there on the pavement, looking at the Gherkin, for 20 minutes.

All I wanted to do was get home. I made it, but it was a trek!

I had a really good time last night... Meeting the people I've met already was, as always, a pleasure, and meeting new people was great too! :)

I had a grand time - went to Guernsey for a mate's birthday bash, then off to the US for my regular visit to friends over there.

I wasn't in any hurry to get back either. I was enjoying seeing the sun, for one thing.

I just got back from rabbit sitting, then the olympic handover and visa party thing that my brother got me tickets for...was a bit shit really as the actual handover was only about 5 minutes and the 'special guests' were bands like scouting for girls and M people. So I left there around 5ish and came back to put the fluffeh's to bed - the foxes'll get them otherwise.

Now going to shower as I smell like rabbit poo and have some tasty foodstuffs :)

I heard it's been a bit crap over here the last few weeks. Glad I missed it!

My weekend has been spent either on aeroplanes, driving to or from airports, or sleeping to recover from jetlag.

And I'm back to work tomorrow too, which I have no desire to do.

I'm not too bad with jet lag as a rule
After tonight's kip I'll be back to normal.

And I don't get bank holidays, so I neither know nor care when they are. Suits me fine actually, as I can take my holidays whenever I like. I'd rather have a week in summer than five Mondays which I have to take whether I want to or not.

We got back about 9 tonight. I'm utterly trashed, but in a good way. And we're off up to Edinburgh at 9 tomorrow morning. Thank God I've got the rest of the week off, I don't think my liver can take much more of this...

Bash was fantastic, nice to see some familiar faces, and some new ones too - Bob, Pooflake, Captain Placid, Rakky, Spak, BGB... just all top, top people, and as always there's never enough time to talk to everyone properly.

Sorry to hear about your getting-home woes D-i-T, but at least you managed to do so in one piece - eventually!

Last night, I had a dream where I was taking my parents´ cat out somewhere and realised that cats seem to have a bluetooth-like wireless networking capability where they can find other peoples´ cats and they had an lcd screen that displayed who´se cats my parents´ cat had been within bluetooth-distance of.

I enjoyed the bash last night (will write about that later).

Spent most of today going on a walk from Croydon to Wandsworth with my friend´s walking-group and ending up in a pub that charged extortionate prices for beer. Am now a bit tipsy.

Been at the flat with Mr Maladicta all weekend... we have as yet no phone line and no internets, and I have to work tomorrow, but have taken Thursday off to be in for the BT man coming round, and also hopefully to move out of here and have all my stuff in. As soon as BT have been - the optimistic estimate is between 1 and 6 - I'll be straight on the phone to the purveyors of internets.
