So
The daythread hath become rather on the slow side, and it's the evening by my reckoning, so here we go.

(, Fri 10 Oct 2008, 17:50, 114 replies, latest was 16 years ago)
It really is
Add salsa and cheese, and a bit of salad, and then you have some lovely haggis fajitas too. They're full of aceness I would say.

edits - That shall be tomorrow's dinner. Yays!

Evening
Hotdogs and Chips tonight.

I was called into work today when I thought I was going to be off so I'm feeling rather unsettled.
(, Fri 10 Oct 2008, 18:01, Reply)
That sounds good
Haven't had haggis for aaaages. Are you Scots then?

ancrenne - take it you're a veggie then, since you didn't mention any of the good parts of fry ups? :P

Black pudding FTW

Morning.
I'm about to make a bacon butty for breakfast.

My kittums are still missing, though :(
(, Fri 10 Oct 2008, 18:03, Reply)
I am a veggie
Sam but I will claim Black Pudding is made from Win. I do miss them.

BTW Sam, I don't think we've met. I'm Mrs Liveinabin, however I don't live in a bin.
I make rather a lot of biscuits.

*edit* Oh Workboresme, that makes me so sad. Have you looked everywhere? We had a kittum go missing because where she had lived before the catflap only went out and she didn't realise she could come in. We found her asleep under the car.
(, Fri 10 Oct 2008, 18:04, Reply)
I am Scots indeed!
Scots for the win! And haggis for a food based win. Plus, it's generally quite cheap for the amount you get for your money. Whatever the word is for that.

I tried vegetarian haggis once too. It actually wasn't bad.
(, Fri 10 Oct 2008, 18:05, Reply)
Ninja Tune FTW!
That is all.
(, Fri 10 Oct 2008, 18:05, Reply)
It is very cheap, harder to get round here than in kilt land though
(I'm Welsh btw, which isn't Scots but better than English I'm sure you'll agree)

Hi Mrs Liveinabin, how's it going? I put black pud on a margherita pizza yesterday, it was amazing. Like a better version of pepperoni.
(, Fri 10 Oct 2008, 18:07, Reply)
yep Noel
Ninja Tune AND Ninja Tuna FTW...

Still waiting for my real (12") copy to arrive though
(, Fri 10 Oct 2008, 18:07, Reply)
Pastry
is not my forte. I make Shortcrust but to be honest *whispers* I buy everything else.

What were you thinking of doing with the apples?
(, Fri 10 Oct 2008, 18:10, Reply)
Cheese is really good in apple pies
Something crumbly, like a Lancashire or a Wensleydale.

Lay slices on top of the apples before you put the pastry lid on.

hahah!
Just been watching the "literal" video of take on me as in the newsletter! Brilliant!

How is everyone else?
(, Fri 10 Oct 2008, 18:12, Reply)
They've been gone since Wednesday
My place is a studio apartment (read, glorified, bigger bedsit with full kitchen and bathroom) and they're definitely not here.
They're not ickle baby kittums, they're 7 months old, so I think they were able to jump the patio fences and have gone for a kittum adventure.

I have flyers up around the complex and also visited the shelters yesterday (and will do today).

And my toilet handle broke this morning. Bugger!

Evening Badger!
Are you well m'dear?

My dinner be ready, it's awesome. Potato wedges 2 nights in a row :)
(, Fri 10 Oct 2008, 18:15, Reply)
Good evening, all.
I think it's a chicken stew for me tonight.

I love the smell and taste of hotdogs, but I couldn't eat one because I don't know what kind of crud is in them! An earthworm, part of an old boot...who knows!
(, Fri 10 Oct 2008, 18:16, Reply)
Cor, you're all making me think of
tonights dinner.
I think I may have to make a chicken curry, now.
(, Fri 10 Oct 2008, 18:17, Reply)
If it tastes good, eat it. That's my motto
Did anyone see the program about disgusting foods on BBC3 a week or two ago?

I actually had to turn it off because it was presented by one of the most annoying people I've ever seen, and he spent the whole program (or the bit of it I saw) repeatedly stating the bleedin' obvious.

That was a good story wasn't it, kids
(, Fri 10 Oct 2008, 18:17, Reply)
Yes thanks PoD
Just wondering where my housemate is!

How's your good self?

2 planes, involving the one and only time I've done a comedy sprint with my luggage to make a connection, a *cough* lovely trip around the M25 and up the M40, I'm no longer in snowland :(

All this talk of food has me hungry though. *phones curry house*

Naughty fuzzy feeling
Well, dinner's all done now. Plus some cereal for pudding, as it's all I could find.

Anyone up to much this fine evening?
(, Fri 10 Oct 2008, 18:37, Reply)
I feel very guilty.
The rule was made when me and ex decorated it last year. It hadn't been decorated in 15 years and had been smoked in a LOT. When I sugar soaped the walls the water that ran down was the colour of hungover wee... It soaked into the skin on my hands and made me feel all peculiar and everything.

So I have been determined to keep it all smoke free since then. But I am slightly drunken, and weak willed.

On the upside, it is a lully room to sit in. The walls are plum, the ceiling is biscuit, and the woodwork is crisp white. I am reclining in my recliner in front of a roaring fire. Getting up to go outside and smoke seems like an ordeal, and it feels like luxury to do it here.

/waffle

EDIT: mmm waffles...
(, Fri 10 Oct 2008, 18:42, Reply)
@Stig
Try veggie Hotdogs, smell and taste the same but made from soya rather than foreskins.
(, Fri 10 Oct 2008, 18:42, Reply)
You have a ceiling made of biscuits?
I'm temporarily living with my parents again so no smoking in the house, it's horrible. Have to traipse down two flights of stairs and stand on the patio in the freezing wind.
(, Fri 10 Oct 2008, 18:44, Reply)
@Mrs Liveinabin
Can you recommend any decent brands of veggie hotdogs? Quorn, I heard, is a bit crud and Linda McCartney (if that brand is still going) is expensive.
(, Fri 10 Oct 2008, 18:49, Reply)
Veggie hotdogs ftw
There's a kind that come in packs of four, but they're really long, and substantial. A bit expensive but worth it. Can't remember what they're called but I get them from Single Step in Lancaster... if that helps...

And they last for ages. Nom. Beans and franks on toast mmm.

I am too blurred to go and cook anything... I have a kind of falafel wrap thing which had better be yummy.

I was without lady yesterday evening.

I was very drunk at my local!

Don't worry, it wasn't an entirely serious suggestion! The idea of sending hot dogs throught the post tickles me.

Oh dear, I am smoking again...

And also, bother. I have just remembered I have a washing machine full of wet stuff to hang up. And I am even more drunken than I was.
(, Fri 10 Oct 2008, 19:24, Reply)
Haha!
Thanks ancrenne :) *drunken snuggly huggles*

I am wishing I'd paced myself a bit better though. Drinking red wine on an empty stomach... bad idea.

Does anyone remember "good idea, bad idea" from Animaniacs? Twas BRILLiant.

@warmfuzzyfeeling
Haha! I remember those now...

Finished my curry now. It was nomalicious. I'm at a bit of a loose end now. After last night's HSH thread I'm toying with the idea of breaking out the League of Gentlemen boxset and pulling some cider out of the fridge. That would lead to certain win.
(, Fri 10 Oct 2008, 19:45, Reply)
@Fuzz
Thanks for those cartoons! I LOVED (and still do) Animaniacs. I've still got their comics in my garage.
(, Fri 10 Oct 2008, 19:45, Reply)
Animaniacs FTW!
(Lots of things are ftw tonight :) )

One of my favourite ever episodes is Woodstock Slappy... that was written for grown ups for sure. Oh and Wally Lama. Oh and the Rasputin one with Pinky and the Brain.

Might just have to dig out my vids... Animaniacs and red wine, evenings don't get much better. (Except maybe League of Gentlemen and cider).

Evening folks
I've been for a swim and am now feeling worn out.

EDIT: I was bowing to V's coolness. Although possibly picking courgettes out of sauce could be cool too...

LOL
It wasn't really.

It's her idea of a joke I think, there's only about 6 foods in the known universe I won't eat and courgettes happen to be one of them!

Not sure I'm an Animaniacs fan, plus I have removed the speakers from my laptop which makes watching online videos a bit boring.

Haha!
Twould be funny to try and guess what the good ideas and bad ideas are in "good idea, bad idea" on the visuals alone.

Seriously, well no not seriously, feckin hilariously, Animaniacs are the best cartoons ever, except maybe Tex Avery.

That's gotta suck. It's supposed to be nice weather though, so how about going for a wander somewhere? I'd say lets meet up, but I've promised I'd head to parents place and see old friends and stuff tomorrow.

I'm ok thanks, doing better than yesterday where I was a bit of a soggy mess, so that's gotta be a good thing :)

Less soggy is good. These things take time and quite often hit people in strange ways so it's good you're being positive.

I'd have loved to have met up but unfortunately I'm stuck in Wiltshire at my parents house and they both have plans for tomorrow, hence being home alone!

I tend to replay
a lot of my working day on my drive home and while I'm trying to relax at home. I've found that I can lay in bed for ages staring at the ceiling with the days events churning about in my head and have found that having Radio 4 on helps get stuff out of my head and off to sleep.

I get quite a lot of confrontation in my post and have a tendency to go over incidents to try and see if I went wrong or have not covered any significant aspect in the documentation.

Thank fuck for book at bedtime!

I used to listen to Radio 4 in bed, but I've now changed to Radio 7.

I used to like the Shipping Forecast, there is something rather calming about it.

I've had an epic evening of the League of Gentlemen, some cheese made out of pure win and the creamy, sweet, nutty goodness that is a well-aged Glenmorangie.

Boring I know, but I feel like I've had a very long day so fancied an evening of slobbing out.

I'm guessing it's not quite late enough for the pub returners yet...

@Mrs Bin
It's totally my kind of evening these days too.

I have real difficulty in loud pubs/crowded places because my hearing is fucked from spending the last 10 years DJing in clubs. This means I can't hear what people are saying, and so can't join in conversations and so end up both appearing to be an antisocial bastard and not enjoying myself.

Quiet lazy evenings in for the win...
