Friends
By the end of next month all of my friends will have moved away.
I only really had two close friends, and both of them are moving away due to work.
One of them will be back in two years, and will be back most weekends.

My problem is this, I have no idea how to make friends.
How do you do it?
Is there some secret that no one has told me?

Basically, making friends is like punching someone in the face
Only you do the exact opposite.

Alternatively, I've found you can win over hoardes of people with a jar of jelly beans.

Do something in the evenings
learn a foreign language or a martial art or join a dinner club.

I think the secret
is the bolt of lightning to reanimate, once you're happy with your needlework.

But after work activities are good too. Drink helps.

Yup
What Davros said.

I've found being a drunken arse helps as people invite you out to see what you do next:)

I'd highly recommend
regular colonic irrigation, preferably in 6 month intervals ;o)

mrs bin
I would say just be yourself - are there any other teachers at your school that you get along with okay? maybe you could reach out to them and go for a couple of pints down at t'pub after school or something.
I don't know. I don't know how to make friends either. :(

Invite people for dinner
If you're any good in the kitchen, invite people over. Plenty of wine, food and music. After a few weeks you be wishing everyone would fuck off and leave you alone again.

Depends on the size of the town / city / village
you live in, but if it's large enough to have it's own Gumtree, advertising for friends on there might be a good idea.

You can make it very clear it's friendship only, same-sex if that's what you want. You might get nutters answer, but chances are you'll get a couple of genuine responses, and it's free.

The problem with the "evening classes" route is these things cost money, you might within the first week or two that the people there aren't up to much. Ditto salsa / Ceroq classes and so on.

Good luck !

as I only beat you by 3 when it comes to close friends!

You could try a swingers club?

I find that begging people to be my friend helps.
And paying them is useful too.
