It's these youngsters.
Fooling about with what we hold sacred with NO THOUGHT for our needs and feelings. Honestly.

I'm so incensed I'll be writing to the Daily Mail. I know that Lord Rothermere you know...

It's not that bad, is it?
You don't have to use the nested replies, not if you don't want to!

But, like, we totally can!
Alright Tights?
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:17, Reply)
Totally.
I'm groovy thanks, Daddy-o. How's you?

(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:19, Reply)
That's so square!
I'm bloody fantastic thanks. Kiddo's curled up on the sofa, I've just walked eight and a half miles and drunk a hundredweight of apple juice.

And I think QOTW now rocks socks. Although I've requested post highlighting like the other boards *crosses fingers*

Oh, and I hit second on Best this week. My life's so very nearly complete :)
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:23, Reply)
Excellent!
:)

I remember Green Shield Stamps
And Liptons.

I grew up wanting to be in Mary, Mungo and Midge.

Changes have to be gently introduced to me, lest I tumble out of my bathchair in astonishment.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:21, Reply)
It'll be fine,
You'll get used to it.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:20, Reply)
Yes yes, with the 'S' on his chest!

(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:25, Reply)
Yes indeed.
Super-er than before.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:47, Reply)
It's just the fact that it was changed for no other reason than he felt like it.
.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:27, Reply)
How about
to bring it in line with every other board on b3ta?
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:32, Reply)
It's not so bad
originally it was difficult to tell if anyone had replied because of the nesting thingy.

Now that it counts those too it's better.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:37, Reply)
I asked for that
and 10 minutes later it was so.

Pretty good service if you ask me.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 22:06, Reply)
Yeah, but...
1) I think he does a lot of coding for the site, and he noticed and thought it was an error in code, so he fixed it
2) It's pretty cool that he is looking out for things to fix
3) You don't *have* to use the nested replies, if you don't want to (like I did just now)

I just don't think it's that big of a deal, no need to get angry about it.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:32, Reply)
Plus
he's fixed the QOTW search bug, which makes him utterly infallible in my book.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:33, Reply)
.
See my post in the other thread.

One thing to worry about is that if the two styles of replying get mixed up, things can well and truly become b0rked.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:42, Reply)
Pfft.
"Two styles getting mixed up"? One is /offtopic, one is /talk, it's pretty obvious which is which. It might just be possible that people will know what page they're on.

And styles? It's hardly the difference between Baroque and Gothic, is it?
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:52, Reply)
Oh, you mean nests vs linear styles.
Again, does it actually matter? No-one here is stupid, I reckon folks will work it out fairly easily.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 21:09, Reply)
As an irregular contributor at best
I shall learn to live with it.

But don't expect me to enjoy it. At all. Oh no.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:42, Reply)
You say that every time...
But you love it secretly.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:45, Reply)
I'm driving the school bus again tomorrow
I stomped away the week before Easter swearing that I'd never do it again but I must admit that I've missed it.

I am a recidivist and will tackle OT with that frame of mind.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:59, Reply)
Well,
Pack a parachute, just in case.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 21:08, Reply)
It'll be roller skates
As my "welcome back" present they've given me an MCW.

28MPH at best - Sandra Bullock would just be gazing out of the cab in sheer boredom.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 21:16, Reply)
It's like one of those hybrid pig foetuses the christians seem so angry about
Tis neither one nor t'other ....... Weird.

Meh - I'm away for the weekend, I'll see if the backlash brings back OT like normal or if it's here to stay then I'll have to ride it.

Can't leave you buggers on your own in a strange place ...... Not after what Bert did to that ocelot.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:54, Reply)
I believe in the adage if it aint broke then why fix it.
Oh dear were we different to the other boards. WTF!
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:57, Reply)
For hundreds of years
Forks didn't exist, but knives did.
I bet people got confused by forks at first.
But without forks, there'd be no sporks, and they're the pinnacle of cutlery technology.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 20:59, Reply)
I'll buy you a small Port and Lemon
As requested, whilst I sip my milk stout.

And we'll reminisce about the days that OT went in a straight line.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 21:02, Reply)
A large port and lemon please.
And a packet of ready salted crisps.

Bloody squirrel flavour. WTF is that all about.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 21:24, Reply)
No
A SMALL Port and Lemon. Do you think I'm MADE of money? Eh?

Crisp choice is up to you but I might treat myself to some dry-roasted peanuts.

But they'll be lasting us all night.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 21:32, Reply)
I've thought of a compromise

Think of the sporks, spak.

I've always found it hard to follow
Particularly when someone replies to a nested reply and I have to scroll back up to see the referencing post. I will just have to get used to it though.
(, Thu 7 May 2009, 21:11, Reply)
i Dont like it
I don't like it at all. Its confusing. And my brain is tired :(
