I went to the cinema to see "Star Trek".
You should all do the same, it's worth the entrance fee.
My only problem with the film is that Scotty is introduced too late. Apart from that, I think it's fucking ace!

...my first thought when I saw the last trailer was "Oh my god, they've fucking ruined it". I had visions of Hollyoaks in space.

Put all wonderfully positive comments to the back of my mind before watching it. I hate getting my hopes up then getting disappointed.

Is it as funny as it sounds, or just a shit-hole?

backed by a kind of moorlike bit with ponies roaming over it.
the rest of the place is pretty shit. or it was last time I was there, there's been some development since.

I've got a mate who moved there from Brixton.
He's getting a bit weirded-out, so I'm gonna go cheer him up.

it's definitely possible to have a good time there.
the beach bit is pretty cool.

I shall persevere though and try to go this week.

I kept waiting for him to say "Simples, Captain"
Crackin' film overall though :)

They have made proper Star Trek. With different actors. Only on a couple of occasions did I hear the plot crowbar forcing characters into their correct places.

and really liked it. It was very loud though, but that could just be me getting old.
Spock is a hottie, although I've had quite enough of emotionally unavailable men.

As others say, the only mildly disappointing bit was the late arrival of Scotty. Apart from that, I'd give it a good 9.5/10
I'm kinda hoping they make another with the same cast.
The addition of Leonard Nimoy worked well too. It's good to know that's it's not just humans that get really big ears when they get very old.
And, the use of some catchphrases from the original series. "I'm a doctor, not a xxx"
I was glad there was no Shatner too.

I hate him so much
although it has reminded me of a joke.
Why was Lieutenant Uhuru brown?
because William Shatner

I shall not tolerate such bloody terrible jokes in this house. Bloody this, bloody that, bloody the other, etc

Ms Crow decided that it was the best thing she'd ever seen.
And my housemate got annoyed with the plot. (I'm not sure I can say why without ruining it for those that haven't seen it)
What I can't judge is the claim of some fanboys that it's "better than The Wrath of Khan." I may now have to get me a copy of the latter so that I can judge this.
