Hurrah
I had an awesome weekend - apart from driving hell getting to/from London - and now I see Vipros is having a shit day which has pleased me. Also the weather is beautiful and I have very little to do in work :D

Question: If you could build your dream house what feature must it have? I want one of those massive wooden slides that I think was featured on Grand Designs Live.

A built-in cinema would be good.
That, and a heated swimming pool. And gardens large enough to gallop a horse in. So stables would also be a must. And a slide into the swimming pool from the bedroom. Oh, and a river going under the house with a clear floor so I can see the water flowing.

Other than Horses. Unless I'm allowed to eat them. A la French.
(, Mon 20 Jul 2009, 9:24, Reply)
Oh yes.
And wireless repeaters all over the house and gardens so there are no deadspots in the wifi.
(, Mon 20 Jul 2009, 9:26, Reply)
And a tower.
And a ballpool. Erm...

if you want a river under your house
you will need to be prepared for your house to get full of water
(, Mon 20 Jul 2009, 9:34, Reply)
The house would of course be up on stilts.

An awesome computer lab
With the walls being dry erase floor to ceiling.
(, Mon 20 Jul 2009, 9:24, Reply)
A woodburning stove
and a lot of dry wipe whiteboard surfaces.

Edit: damn you, you fellow cross-posting whiteboard fan.

(, Mon 20 Jul 2009, 9:26, Reply)
Been doing that for the past 5 weeks :(

If you think like Catface
then that's worrying. And possibly a sign of the apocalypse
(, Mon 20 Jul 2009, 9:29, Reply)
Mine would need to have
a 25m swimming pool, a large music room with a Bösendorfer grand piano, and a largish stream running through the garden, which I could dam to provide power to heat the pool and the house, using a water-driven heat pump for maximum efficiency.

A sex dungeon,

(, Mon 20 Jul 2009, 9:29, Reply)
I thought that came as standard
Its not like you have to specify it.

Eh?

Home studio
Three screens, big mixer, racks of gear, plenty of instruments, amps, percussion, booths etc.

I could spend the rest of my life pretending I'm Lenny Kravitz.
(, Mon 20 Jul 2009, 9:29, Reply)
I want a bedroom in a tower
Then to get down every morning, a water slide, with as many twists and turns as possible.
(, Mon 20 Jul 2009, 9:30, Reply)
Add a few of those car wash rollers and some shower gel
and you've got yourself scrubbed right there.
(, Mon 20 Jul 2009, 9:32, Reply)
Oh
that's a good idea.

Slightly 'Wallace and Gromit', but good nevertheless.
(, Mon 20 Jul 2009, 9:32, Reply)
I prefer 'Heath Robinson'
Sounds less plasticeney.
(, Mon 20 Jul 2009, 9:36, Reply)
Or Wilf Lunn
(if you're old enough to remember)

This sounds ok
until you are horrendously hungover and vomit all the way down
(, Mon 20 Jul 2009, 9:32, Reply)
That wouldn't be a problem though
The water would wash ti away, and you'd feel much better once you got to the bottom. Or pass out and drown and die. Either way, no more hangover.
(, Mon 20 Jul 2009, 9:54, Reply)
a roof garden
a swimming pool and an observatory with a retractable dome

also: not a bad day as such, the guy hasn't said much since his arrival. I should be able to cope.
(, Mon 20 Jul 2009, 9:32, Reply)
a ball pit

(, Mon 20 Jul 2009, 9:39, Reply)

Fanks!
(, Mon 20 Jul 2009, 9:41, Reply)

(, Mon 20 Jul 2009, 9:47, Reply)
A ball pit for fucking in?
That would be weird. *imagines*

I heard that the big crunch theory
is based on the theoretical point when TGB puts her legs together.

At the moment though
the expansion of the universe is still accelerating...

(, Mon 20 Jul 2009, 9:45, Reply)
I want a series of miniguns
all around the house for when the taxman comes.

Also, on a more serious note, computer/gaming room with surround sound and one of those 102inch plasmas. Industrial strength fibre optic internet too.
(, Mon 20 Jul 2009, 9:44, Reply)
Oh yeah
I'd have AC/DC living somewhere so I can have them play to me when I want.
(, Mon 20 Jul 2009, 9:53, Reply)
A nice big window
With a view of the sea. And a coal fire with a stool nearby to rest my feet. I can drink Coffee in the winter, read the paper and watch the fishing boats struggle in the stormy water.

In the basement (apart from my imprisoned daughter and grand-daughters) I'll have a custom, top-of-the-range music studio with a range of guitars and amps. On the first floor will be my personal cinema with extensive collection of pirated downloaded films and LOVEFiLM.com rips.
(, Mon 20 Jul 2009, 10:09, Reply)
id like someone by the sea or a lake
id fish my fucking tits off
