the police cells out there are a lot more friendlier than the city jails here. The cops realize when someone has been a bit stupid and gotten drunk, they'll let them sleep it off, slap 'em on the wrist and fine them then they can go home.
Here, you get processed through the jail system, drunk and disorderly will get you thrown in a cell that may include murderers, druggies etc and the water is a drinking fountain on top of the toilet.
On top of that, you'll then have to go to court a few days later. If you're not released on bail or your own recognizance, you're in jail a maximum of 72 hours before you go to court.

All in all it was shitty.
I'm not saying I don't deserve what I got.
It could have been a hell of a lot worse, I could've killed myself or anyone else and I'm thankful for getting that DUI.
It saved my life.
/seriousness over

I mean, driving at 14, sex at 18 and drinking at 21... it just seems wrong to me.

and I think it's just wrong that your legal age is 16, maybe it's because I've grown up here but the idea of sleeping with a 16 year old is just gross.

I think there should be some sort of buffer, a 16 year old and a 15 year old isn't that big of a deal, a 30 year old and a 15/16 year old is.

I was lucky though, I happened to be stupid on a quiet night and also sobered up very quickly. I had a good experience in the cells and a good outcome too. I'd like to think that a burglar or someone similar would be dealt with differently
