What do you keep doing even though you know it's very bad for you? (Either mentally or physically).
Monty, you don't need to answer this.

Sitting at a computer makes my back hurt, and I should be doing more work.

Not mildly annoying.

Smoke,
drink to excess
fall for unobtainable women.
(, Tue 12 Jan 2010, 15:35, Reply)
the falling for unobtainable women thing is a pain in the arse
I went through some years of that.

I found that smoking and drinking to excess helped me deal with it.

It's shit, but obtainable women are boring.

(, Tue 12 Jan 2010, 15:57, Reply)
or flawed because they are interested in you?
what you have to do is find one that is currently unobtainable, and then when they slip into a brief obtainable patch, snap them up.

worked for me.

Well she sobered up and stayed with you. Or is the poor woman in a permanant gin-haze?

no, she's sober. I suspect I was more drunk when we got together, so she must have made the first move

I've been thinking of getting a band together again
and I think perhaps a mod/freakbeat combo called 'The Monty Affliction' might be the way forward. Like The Alan Bown Set or the Graham Bond Organisation, or my favourites The Richard Kent Style.

(, Tue 12 Jan 2010, 16:19, Reply)
I'd happily cover Bowie in 6 feet of soil.
Will that do?

BOOZE!
and the occasional E. Also tried mephodrone once or twice - for god sake steer clear. It's plant food for fuck sake.

Booze is my biggest vice to end all vices though.
(, Tue 12 Jan 2010, 15:40, Reply)
It is SOLD as plant food but it isn't.
That doesn't make it good for you though, they will get round to banning it soon enough though.
(, Tue 12 Jan 2010, 15:45, Reply)
True
but good lord the "comedown" is the worst I've ever felt. I slept for 24 hours straight or so and still could've slept more were it not for work.

Eat chilli Doritos.
So good, and yet so bad.

Mentally- spend too much time thinking of how things could be, rather than just getting on with the fact of how they are

Drinking to excess
I'm not the biggest of people and thus get drunk quite easily, also my alcohol tolerance seems to vary wildly from occasion to occasion - one week I can consume eight pints and loads of spirits and be fairly ok the next day, but the next week six pints will have me blotto and I'll be a non-functioning wreck for the entirety of the next day. It's also landed me in some predictably unpleasant situations. I also have a tendency to pile the booze in at the slightest provocation. I've finally decided to do something about this though, so I'm having January off.
(, Tue 12 Jan 2010, 15:43, Reply)
Strangely
I read a blog entry by Roger Ebert which made me just want to give up booze altogether. Even if you're not addicted, a lot of people use it as a crutch for a lot of things
(, Tue 12 Jan 2010, 15:47, Reply)
I keep taking on more and more responsibilities
even though I barely have enough time to do the things that I've taken on already.

It makes life a bit stressful, but then if I had nothing to do I'd be bored senseless. I should find a happy medium, but I find that if an opportunity to do something comes up and I have a spare hour to do it in, then I'll do it. I then complain about how I never have any free time to finish sodding Zelda.

Sleeping with someone I know likes me a lot, yet we both know I don't like her enough to start a relationship.
What a cunt eh?
(, Tue 12 Jan 2010, 16:14, Reply)
that's not as bad for you as it is for her

(, Tue 12 Jan 2010, 16:15, Reply)
Yep, hence the "What a cunt eh?" part

(, Tue 12 Jan 2010, 16:16, Reply)
Also, she used to be good friends with the person I was a little bit keen on for a couple of years,
and sleeping with her really messed things up, and probably ruined any chances I have of getting back with the person I really like.

Perhaps subconsciously I'm punishing her? I can't be that horrible can I?
(, Tue 12 Jan 2010, 16:18, Reply)
as long as you both understand the situation
you can't be solely responsible. And go and find someone you do want to start a relationship with!

physically: play football. I'm nearly 30 and my body just can't cope with it the way it used to. It's the biggest and best rush ever though, nothing comes close.
mentally: uncertain but it's likely to do with women.

Especially sticking it in the onion bag.
