Stolen from Geekologie - The Trustworthiness of Beards
www.geekologie.com/image.php?path=/2010/04/22/beards-full.jpg
Do you have a beard? What kind? Or ladies, what kind of beard is your favourite?

given for "Werewolf"
EDIT: I am clean shaven, and I don't think my face would suit facial hair.
My father, however, has a tremendous Walrus Moustache that would rival that of both Professor Lord Robert Winston and Groucho Marx.

He used to smoke a pipe. After he'd fertilised my mother at some point in 1984, however, he decided for the good of his impending offspring that he should probably give up smoking, and he's not picked up his pipe since. He does still treat himself to the occasional cigar though.

I had asthma as a kid so my mum made him give up the pipe. He totally still smokes in secret though, no one needs that many softmints in the garage.

I've made my bloke stop shaving every day to achieve that effect. He looks to boyish unshaven, it's disturbing.

A 2 month goatee and tache, the rest of hair on head and face is about 2 weeks growth.
I'm just a lazy get.

Too many years of seen my father's snot or spagetti on his.

It's a twelve-day beard at the moment. I trim the bottom of the 'tache off and straighten the sideburn-to-lip edge to square my stupidly round face up a bit.

now I tend to keep 3-4 days growth length so I don't look 12.

unshaven is fine, even a few days worth. But no beards

I'm on day 9 of beardy goodness... not sure how long it'll last though?? it's past the itchy stage though so may grow it for a few weeks and see how it looks then.

I have done for a couple of years because I look very, very young without it. Every so often I think "What would it be like to be clean shaven?" and trim it down to nearly nothing. I then quickly decide I hate it and let it grow out again.
Edit: More scruffily unshaven than beard, I suppose.
Picture in profile.

the references to goatee beards in this thread have me looking around for a leg up to help me get on my high horse. The term seems to be applied to hair which covers the chin but not doesn't extend up the jawline.
Now here's a picture of a goat.

It doesn't just have fur in the area described, it has it all over its face, around its eyes and everything. That is not its beard.
Its beard is the bit that hangs down below its chin. And to my mind it is only beards of that nature, as worn by French beatniks (and more acely by The Stranglers circa "Duchess"), that are worthy of the name.

It actually needs a fair bit of maintenance to stop me turning into David Bellamy or Grizzly Adams.
