LUNCH
I've decided I'm only ever going to come in here and start lunch threads then fuck off again.

Tuno mayo baguette today.

Alt Q: You have to eat either; your own hand (raw), a pile of tripe or Brian Blessed's beard which would you chose and why?
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:22, 76 replies, latest was 16 years ago)
Chicken noodle soup
it's nice but there's too much arrowroot in it.
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:23, Reply)
Brian Blessed's beard
It'd give me superpowers, like the ability to project my voice for MILES.
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:24, Reply)
Not sure on lunch yet
Don't have anything exciting in, so probably reheated paella

How big a pile of tripe?
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:24, Reply)
a wheelbarrow load!

(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:27, Reply)
Probably the beard then
Though the potential for hairballs is disturbing
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:33, Reply)
I've read about girls who've died from chewing their own hair
because it's undigestible and just forms a mass in their stomach.
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:36, Reply)
we've got lunch on the company because of a shitty course I've been on
sandwiches which will probably be mainly full of cucumber, cheese or tomato, rendering them inedible.

I'd eat the beard. I need my hands and tripe is blatantly fucking disgusting.
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:25, Reply)
Cheese in a sandwich is awesome
But I'm with you on the cucumber and tomato. Why add them?
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:28, Reply)
Salad sandwich and iced tea.
BRIAN BLESSED'S BEARD.
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:26, Reply)
I'm feeling ill still
so haven't moved to get food since complaining I have nothing but satsumas last night. So satsumas it is
Alt Q: probably Brian Blesses's Beard if I didn't have to eat the whole thing
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:27, Reply)
You're college is in the middle of town!
Go get some proper food!
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:32, Reply)
but I don' t want to have to walk
that requires clothing other than tracksuit bottoms and t-shirt, and a snuggie, and also energy
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:56, Reply)
Of course youhave to eat the whole thing
It is fat free though
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:36, Reply)
Pile of tripe
I need my hands and Brian's beard seems less edible than tripe. I mean, people sometimes eat tripe but nobody eats beards.

I'm going to have a banana, some strawberries and a yogurt for lunch.
I am not going to be naughty until I get on the train, when my weekend officially tarts.
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:28, Reply)
but it is a wheelbarrow load of tripe
bit of a Freudian slip there as well
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:29, Reply)
Where?

(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:48, Reply)
'officially tarts'

(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:56, Reply)
Oops...

(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 14:01, Reply)
Tripe is fucking foul. It's the one food I won't eat.
Oh, actually tapioca is a close second.

I'd rather chew on a beard.
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:30, Reply)
Add liver and cabbage to that list
Disgusting.
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:32, Reply)
I don't mind liver if it's cooked nicely.
Cabbage is lovely!
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:33, Reply)
Wrooooooooooong

(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:33, Reply)
Cabbage is nice, when done well
Stfu
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:34, Reply)
^agrees
But if it's done badly its absolutely awful, and there's no middle ground
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:34, Reply)
I'd go with tripe
since that's actually food. Supposedly.

I'm also having tuna mayo today, in the form of pasta. We're like lunch psychics.
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:30, Reply)
Oh my god we like so are!
Were you about to start a thread?
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:36, Reply)
I really was thinking about it!

(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:42, Reply)
I sensed it
*makes oooooh noises*
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:45, Reply)
I'm doing the 'ooooh' fingers as well

(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:47, Reply)
Oooh fingers?
I'm intrigued as to how you would get those.
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 13:54, Reply)
A CROISSANT!
and an apple.

The beard.
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:32, Reply)
Smug bitch

(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:33, Reply)
It's got chocolate in it and everything.

(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:33, Reply)
I want one now

(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:34, Reply)
a beard?
(wonder how many times I can ask that)
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:35, Reply)
Had one, kinda
Shaved it off this morning as it irritated me. Have minor chin stubble only now. Also shaved my head.
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:36, Reply)
all of it?
Had it receeded to the point when your mohawk was more mosparrow?
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:38, Reply)
Nice word play
And no, not all of it, the mo is still resplendent (although sleeping right now).
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:39, Reply)
Awww I love sleeping mo

(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:39, Reply)
It's twitching gently
Aww, it's dreaming!
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:40, Reply)
Do you want to go to BGB's on the Friday?
You don't have a lot of say in this as we are going Friday
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:41, Reply)
The 25th? Sure!

(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:42, Reply)

(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:44, Reply)
What time will you be picking me up?

(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:46, Reply)
I dunno
Are we doing the service station lunch?
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:48, Reply)
Can do
Obviously KFC is preferential.
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:49, Reply)
Obviously
You chicken whore!
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 13:03, Reply)
It's a 7days one from the Turkish supermarket across the road.
Made of chemicals and air but reminds me of Greece so it makes me happy.
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:36, Reply)
I'm sure the Turks won't be happy to remind you of Greece.

(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:37, Reply)
I think they sell it all over Europe - everywhere but here.
I'm off to biochem now, wish me luck.
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:38, Reply)
Good luck!

If Brian's been savagely demolishing a Toblerone, sure

(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:35, Reply)
It would make it more palatable.

(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:37, Reply)

Haha, fair enough!

(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:51, Reply)
Tripe
I'm one of these nose to tail types that'll eat anything.

Was actually reading yesterday about a popular bone marrow dish:
www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/wordofmouth/2009/nov/13/chefs-dishes-homage-bone-marrow

Wonder what that tastes like..
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:38, Reply)
'Nose to tail'
Part of a human centipede are you?
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:39, Reply)
I do eat a lot of shit at work

(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:43, Reply)
Would you eat kangeroo anus?

(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:40, Reply)
Well, it's not something I'd go out of my way to eat
but I would try it.
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:44, Reply)

Would you eat Al's anus?
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:44, Reply)
I would try it
but seeing as it's Al I can only imagine it would taste despicable
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:46, Reply)
I used to suck the marrow out of chicken bones when I was younger
It's nommy.

Also apparently very nice (though I've never actually tried it) is a traditional Polish soup made from duck's blood.
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 12:41, Reply)
I like my Duck's blood straight from the source.

(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 13:03, Reply)
Bolognaise on toast.
Fucking nom. And the house is full of the smell of stifado that's currently bubbling away in the slow cooker, to be ready when it get in from our massive walk in the hills.

Rock 'n' roll!

I JUST FOUND A HAIR IN MY BLT.
Blessed's a dead man
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 13:17, Reply)
Is that marginally better or worse
than finding a D-i-T in your BLT?
(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 13:17, Reply)
I just found a hair in my underwear.

(, Fri 4 Jun 2010, 13:26, Reply)
Was it coarse?
And are you sure you didn't order a DLT? They're well hairy.
