I'm useless at finding things on the internet
How difficult can it be to find a couple of second hand shops that sell wedding dresses around Manchester? If you're me, very difficult.

What are you useless at?

Alt.Q: Have you watched Inception yet? It's great!

Edit: I'm so sorry, Gonz, so sorry. There was nothing when I started to type.

Really?
I used Word to correct it and gave me the last one I wrote. I won't trust it anymore.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:42, Reply)
Word's an American invention
I wouldn't trust it at all if I were you, it keeps trying to put 'z's in words like realise
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:58, Reply)
Yes
I never know anymore which one is right. However, is the best tool I have to correct my poor spelling. You and your bloody lack of rules.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 15:01, Reply)
Nah', it's all good in the hood.
Are you still at the cabbie's place?
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:33, Reply)
Blah yeah, and it's DOING MY FUCKING HEAD IN!
I'm sure you know what it's like.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:54, Reply)
Aye, deffo.
I'm thinking about going back though for some part-time cash.

Inception is good but just good. The last third of the film with the 3 threads at once is soooooo slow. Plus cop out on the ending. Loved the idea though and would give it a strong 7 out of 10.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:33, Reply)
It could have improved with a better ending
I think they'll make a 2nd
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:34, Reply)
I thought the ending was perfect
And the pacing of the final third was spot on. A very polished, and brilliant film.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:38, Reply)
The acting saved it,
not one weak performance although your man from Third Rock From the sun was trying his hardest to be the new Keanu Reeves. Leo was good though back to form after the bollocks that was Blood Diamond.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:40, Reply)
Oh! That's where he's from!
I kept thinking I could recognize his face from a SciFi related TV thingy, and couldn't put my finger on it. Thanks!
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:46, Reply)
I think the ending was good
But could have been better. A bit too straight forward. I was expecting a twist.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:43, Reply)
Yep this,

(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:43, Reply)
I don't know how they could really, well not with Cobb anyway.

(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:41, Reply)
Well, you remember the end, don't you?
I don't want to spoil it for other people, but what happened to the token?
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:47, Reply)
I think the ending is precisely why there shouldn't be a sequel.

(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:50, Reply)
Agreed
Leave it as it is.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:51, Reply)
I don't think Nolan would make a sequel to it anyway,
Inception's clearly a labour of love.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:52, Reply)
He's worked on it for 8+ years
If he'd have wanted to do a sequel/series, he'd have seeded more in the film, make it look like the beginning to something as opposed to a wholly complete article.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:55, Reply)
I just think
He could have done the ending a lot more thrilling. Too many doors closed.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:56, Reply)
Whaaaaaat?
I think you need to watch it again. The brilliance of the ending (without wanting to give too much away) is the realisation of the meaning it has for the rest of the film when you look at it again.

Well, I think so anyway.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 15:03, Reply)
I wholeheartedly agree!
I want to see it again, see how I perceive it all with the knowledge of the ending firmly in mind.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 15:05, Reply)
No
I think it could have been much better, but explaining it here would spoil it. Just think of how he sees his kids every single time. The clothes they are wearing and how they're playing. And then, how he sees them at the end. Can you tell the differences?
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 15:11, Reply)
I'm becoming more confused reading this post than I was watching the film.

(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 15:09, Reply)
So, did you see the ending and NOT think about the implications it had?

(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 15:11, Reply)
I don't want to say in the main thread incase anyone has seen it. I'll gaz you

(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 15:12, Reply)
I miss Kaol's film reviews

(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:43, Reply)
I went to the Premiere of Inception, and stood right next to Chris Nolan.
But that's another story. Excellent, wonderful film.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:41, Reply)
haven't seen Inception yet
and currently I'm useless at walking. Slightly disturbed by the doctor's reaction to me today
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:43, Reply)
did he flinch?

(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:45, Reply)
no
he told me he'd pray for me. Which was nice but disturbing
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:48, Reply)
Woah
My ex had a senior nurse say that she'd be able to recover from her crippling arthritis if she turned to Jesus. She really wanted to complain, but was too shocked by it all.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:50, Reply)
that's not so good
was the prognosis not good then?
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:52, Reply)
that's the funny thing
I just went in there to get a prescription for my standard meds, not for a diagnosis or anything. He asked me to explain why he should be prescribing vast quantities of pain meds to a 'young girl' so I explained the illness/residual pain and he told me to stay strong and he'd pray for me
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:55, Reply)
: /

(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:55, Reply)
I didn't mind :)
my whole family is Catholic, and he's a Maltese doctor in an extremely Catholic country.

I did bloody mind that my meds are 'hospital only' in Malta, and there are no alternatives
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:58, Reply)
did he sort you out with a prescription though?
that's pretty odd. god has no place in medicine.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:57, Reply)
see above
meds are 'hospital only' here though he did write me a note for the hospital, it's about one and a half hours away on a bus
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:59, Reply)
ah, still in Malta
fair enough
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 15:10, Reply)
What did you do?
I'm thinking of buying those new shoes that make you walk like if you were stupid but are supposed to be very good for you.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:48, Reply)
Clown shoes?

(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:51, Reply)
How would clown shoes be good for you?
You'd be partially transformed into a BEING FROM NIGHTMARES!
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:52, Reply)
They give you happy feet.

(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:54, Reply)
MBTs I think they're called
I fell over on a night out and my foot came out of my shoe (high heels with ankle strap, which meant it bent a lot and is now extremely sore.

But I wasn't at the doctor for that, just for a refill prescription
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:53, Reply)
Yes, those are the ones
I've read a lot of reviews, and they're all good, but still don't know.

Sorry about your foot, I hope it gets better.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 15:04, Reply)
Thanks :)
my mother and my father both own MBTs. They like them a lot and think they work, but I found them quite heavy myself to walk in
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 15:06, Reply)
Well, that's all what I needed
someone from real life (more or less) to tell me they're good. I'm going to buy them now.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 15:14, Reply)
Spanish?
Noice.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:46, Reply)
Is that what you're useless at?

(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:49, Reply)
Only through lack of practice
:( I forget all the tricky past tenses.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 14:52, Reply)
My bf never knows when to use each of them
It makes it very funny, as for us a sentence means something completely different depending on which past you use. He doesn't like me laughing at him.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 15:05, Reply)
Future is also tricky
I end up using "voy a *verb*" instead. Cheating!
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 15:13, Reply)
Haha!
It's not a bad trick. The problem with the past is that you have 2 past tenses and we have 6, that's without counting the continuous tenses. He can't understand why we need 4 more than you.

We have as well 4 futures instead of 1 like you, but I think they're easier to understand.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 15:16, Reply)

*decides not to bother learning Spanish*
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 15:18, Reply)
All romances languages are like that
And German is not easier.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 15:22, Reply)
I'm not even going to try to remember "I used to"
Fuera a? Jesus. No, that's I went. Noooo :(
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 15:39, Reply)
Fueria?
My brain hurts. Luckily most general conversation only needs present and some easy past/future.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 15:41, Reply)
Solía
I think you mean. O iba a.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 15:58, Reply)
*brain melts out of ears*

(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 16:17, Reply)
I'm not very good at it either, I'm trying to find info on my breed of puppy and am not being very successful at it.
I reckon for you the best would be to just get out there and look around...you know...IRL.

I'm useless at a lot of things. Being productive, mostly.

Alt. No.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 15:03, Reply)
I just don't have a lot of time
and I hate shopping, so if I can arrange a couple of appointments before hand, that should save me some time.

Which dog is your dog?
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 15:07, Reply)
Understandable! I reckon maybe it's harder to find local places like that in the interwebz
She's a pit/lab mix. Echo is her name. 5 months old. 40 fucking pounds as of yesterday. *sigh*

(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 15:10, Reply)
My sister has a beautiful labrador
and she has a few friends with labradors too, a bit crazy about dogs. She lives in NY, so I don't know if that helps you.
(, Wed 21 Jul 2010, 15:17, Reply)
BTW
She's so sweet!
