I tend not to be disappointed about technology
as in general I'm a late adopter, so the technology has matured by the time I buy it.

Mind you, most Freeview television broadcasts are pretty shit quality (except for BBC1, 2 and Ch 4, which are OK) but that's not the fault of the technology, it's just 'them' trying to squeeze money out of the system.
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:05, 1 reply, 16 years ago)
I hope I'm not dissapointed with the freeview box I was given the other day
I only want it for BBC4.
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:09, Reply)
You'll end up watching Dave!

(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:10, Reply)
I know, it will be difficult.
Do they still do back to back QI?
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:17, Reply)
It's interspersed with back to back Top Gear

(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:18, Reply)
Oh dear.

(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:21, Reply)
It is..
"The Home of Witty Banter" though.

So not all bad.
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:24, Reply)
And their +1 channel
has possibly the greatest name ever
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:24, Reply)
I just checked
Dave ja vu.

That is good. Must have been thought up by James May.
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:30, Reply)
I love that too

(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:34, Reply)
I love Top Gear
And in particular Clarkson. I believe that makes me some sort of tosser round here but the man is hilarious.
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:29, Reply)
I watch top gear
but Clarkson's fawning over the celebs is vomit inducing.

Some say he is an utter cunt.
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:31, Reply)
that is the one thing I don't like about clarkson
I find everything else about him fairly hilarious
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:32, Reply)
I do think he's funny
but because of Dave replaying Top Gear constantly I've got bored of his arrogance.
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:34, Reply)
I'm normally happy to watch repeats of stuff I liked the first time around
but not top gear for some reason

I watched Crank last night. Fucking hilarious.
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:42, Reply)
Have you seen Crank 2?
More OTT awesomeoness.
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:43, Reply)
arse
I forgot to turn my computer and utorrent my perfectly legal method of getting films on this morning
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:45, Reply)
I want to see Crank 2
just so I can find out how they explain their way out of the ending to the first one.
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:47, Reply)
Want me to tell you?

(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:48, Reply)
I don't want to ruin the surprise!

(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 12:03, Reply)
Both films made me respect Jason Statham
I just hope that he shines in The Expendables.
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:47, Reply)
I have a firm belief that the Expendables is going to be brilliant

(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:48, Reply)
i hope so too!!!!!!
I cannot wait til it comes out. I'm hoping my new Empire arrives today as I think the preview or review is in this months.
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:55, Reply)
I can't uy empire until next Thursday when it's out in the shops
This months made me want to see Tron SO BAD
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:57, Reply)
Tron looks awesome
I love being a subscriber as you get some really cool covers plus it arrives a week before everyone else can get it in the shop.
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 12:08, Reply)
Wasn't it!
I loved it. It wasn't so bad that it's good, it was so ridiculous that it was awesome.

I loved it when he was trying to get his girlfriend to fuck him in the street and she was screaming and shouting but then just changed her mind.
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:46, Reply)
Because if she hadn't changed her mind
It'd be a massively dark, horrific moment in an otherwise upbeat film.
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:49, Reply)
that is very true

(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:52, Reply)
yeah it would have been a very different film
if she'd just stomped off and he'd died there and then on the pavement.
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 12:04, Reply)
or if he'd raped her

(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 12:06, Reply)
yeah
we had our part time housemate there last night, and as it was starting she was all like "oh no, you do know what you are watching right?"

then me and the mrs laughed our arses off all the way through.

Took ages to work out that his girlfriend was Tasty Coma Wife from Scrubs. She has a fine arse. She played a stoner quite well. Particularly loved the pointless hiccups in one scene.
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:49, Reply)
Amy Smart is lovely

(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:58, Reply)
indeed she is
surprise flash of tit in Crank which was nice.

not the type I normally like, but she is hot.
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:59, Reply)
she gets her boobs out in Road Trip

(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 12:05, Reply)
excellent

(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 12:05, Reply)
and she's actually really good in the Butterfly Effect
so I will accept her as hot.
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 12:11, Reply)
is that film any good?

(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 12:14, Reply)
I really liked it
But I wasn't expecting much.
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 12:21, Reply)
I find the constant crapping on about cars somewhat wearisome.

(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:35, Reply)
Same here.
I think he's brilliant, it just annoys me when me loses his head up the arse of the star in the reasonably priced car, he's trying so hard to kiss it.
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:36, Reply)
'LOOSES'?
*withering stare*
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:38, Reply)
Okay, that one was more my poor typing than my inability to spell.

(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:40, Reply)
*notes down name and address*
OK I’ll let you off with a warning – this time. Next time I shan’t be so lenient.
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:43, Reply)
Yes sir, thank you sir
Won't happen again.
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:45, Reply)
Yeah the Tom Cruise, Diaz interview was especially bad
but it's that little tosser Hammond who I don't like.
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:35, Reply)
I used to like Hammond
His love of Oliver made me believe he actually gave a shit about cars rather than Clarkson who just likes driving fast going vroom. Then Hammond caught clarkcockitis and now just mocks everything that isn;t fast and goes vroom
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:40, Reply)
I find that
they seem totally blinkered about some cars
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:41, Reply)
I find the way Clarkson speaks

(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:42, Reply)
*pause*

(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:43, Reply)
Is irritating

(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:43, Reply)
it's........almost
like......thewaythatwilliamshatner......speaks
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:44, Reply)
I couldn't agree more

(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:45, Reply)
ha

(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:45, Reply)
ha
He's from the Shatner school of speaking
damn you vipros
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:46, Reply)
Someone didn't refresh the page before posting

(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:46, Reply)
Maybe because I was distracted by WORK

(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:50, Reply)
I agree
but it stopped being a proper car show years ago and the worst thing is they are recycling all the jokes. Setting things on fire camping - done twice now. Car falling off cliff/down big hill - twice. There are others but forgotten for the moment. James May has done the best out of it I think. His big ideas show is ace. I loved the show he did with the scalectrix as well.
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:47, Reply)
Also, Clarkson is utterly hopeless when he appears on any other shows. He can only work to a script.

(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:51, Reply)
yeah he's never very funny on quiz panel shows

(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:53, Reply)
he's ok on QI because he actually knows some interesting stuff that others don't

(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:54, Reply)
And he eats lots of interesting animals.

(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:56, Reply)
yeah, his toys show is good
I still enjoy the show, and I want to know about supercars, not just what shitty ordinary cars are around.
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:51, Reply)
true, I don't think anyone watches it to find out which car to buy next
Although I did really enjoy the bit they did where they got three little runabouts and got their mums to test them for shopping capacity, ease of driving, etc.
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:54, Reply)
that was quite good.
last time I watched Fifth Gear I ended up ranting at my mate about how shit it was for about half an hour.
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:55, Reply)
It is balls
apart from VBH, that voice is something else. Like she has been gargling with fire and nails.
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:57, Reply)
she's a twat
she's turning into Quentin Wilson. Twat.
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:57, Reply)
He lives 'round here
I bump into him in pubs. He's a tall, arrogant fucker.
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 11:59, Reply)
he has literally nothing to be arrogant about
I want to kick him in the neck
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 12:01, Reply)
good luck reaching
are you a flamingo?
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 12:11, Reply)
I hate fifth gear
it's just so shitty. And that Vicky bird pisses me off, she's so annoying.
(, Wed 28 Jul 2010, 12:06, Reply)
I enjoyed most of the races
between cars and public transport
