I bought a new belt today and discussed marketing strategies with the owner of the skate shop.
So, tell me, O fellow B3tans, who would you rather garrotte with a piano string? Jamie Oliver, Damon Albarn or the man that invented concrete?

but if I had to, jamie. I like blur and concrete is really handy

The ancient Romans used concrete.

Ring Ring.... Hello [shop name with the word 'skate' in the title]..... Yes, we're very open, except george, he's a bit reserved about it.
Ring Ring.... Hello [shop name with the word 'skate' in the title]..... (are you open?), "Only when our staff is in".
Along with, and I was 8ish here, sending me out for things that are impossible, such as tartan paint.

There's enough good chefs that are less annoying that he won't be missed.

I'm not really jelous of other people, it's not in me, some people have good cards handed to them, others bad. Some people get a whole game with good cards, others get a few rounds.... ditto with bad cards.
But if I was to be jelous of anyone, it would be him. I have so much respect for that man too.

Possibly? Or it may be all that affected 'geezer'ishness that gets on people's tits.

It was on the radio this morning and it was bouncing round my head for the rest of the shift. I keep thinking it's called The Boy Girl Song, but that's by Aphex Twin.

2nd song is Mr. Scruff - Fish,
That's the only one I can recognise on a quick flick though (though I'm very un-musical, so that's not too surprising)...

You got number 1, there's no nasty surprises on there.

And if you ignore Blur's shite Britpop output, Albarn could be considered a genius. Although admittedly you could argue Coxon was just as responsible for their better stuff.

More mockney than Jamie Oliver and bigger genre tourists than Bowie and Radiohead.
And just generally, you know, shit.
(, Wed 13 Oct 2010, 20:26, Reply)
Parklife (the song and the album), as well as The Great Escape, were both utter pony. All that Britpop nonsense was.
However, Modern Life Is Rubbish, 13, Blur and Think Tank are all ace albums. As is Coxon's solo stuff.

I have always been with Mogwai re. Blur.

Blur made their name by sounding like other bands, being class tourists and smug fuckers. Not an original musical bone in their bodies, and their vocalist, in every interview I've seen him do, comes across as an utter arsepiece.
Everything they do is ripped off from someone else.
(, Wed 13 Oct 2010, 20:45, Reply)
I wouldn't disagree that their music isn't entirely original, but it doesn't mean it's not any good.
(, Wed 13 Oct 2010, 20:49, Reply)
The other half is the smug shitness.
