You may well be correct
and when I eventually turn up to a bash I promise to be as open-minded as possible towards everyone, except Plumdozer, obviously
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 10:36, 2 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
Obviously.

(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 10:36, Reply)
It only makes sense to be as nice as possible
cos if we do get on despite my inital misgivings I'll feel like an arse for misjudging you, and if we don't I won't have gained anything. So I will make an effort, honest. Plumdozer would have to buy me beers all night and wear a T-shirt saying "sorry I'm such a cock online" to even gain an upgrade from "ouright blanking" to "withering contempt"

Meeting people is a real change
Very different in real life than on here. For example, I'm not that much of a prick in real life.

Although I've been informed I get very opinionated when drunk...
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 10:42, Reply)
I could have written this post verbatim
Especially the last part
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 10:45, Reply)
The reason I say apparantley is because BGB won't tell me what I was actually saying!

(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 10:52, Reply)
This is my main problem with the prospect of coming to a bash
I will almost certainly get drunk and say something eminently regrettable which will fast become the stuff of meme
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 10:54, Reply)
At your first bash, be careful on the booze
After that, do as you wish.
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 10:56, Reply)
Depends if Ms Foxtrot comes
If she does I'll have to stay sober to make sure she has fun, she's really shy around new people and gets very wound up when I'm accused of gayness
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 11:03, Reply)
I'd advise against bringing a significant other to your first bash, or you'd likely find it difficult to shift from conversation to conversation, which is important.

(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 11:09, Reply)
Good point
And I have an idea of what to talk about with whom, whereas she'll just be bemused. On the other hand, the chances of her having no problem with me buggering off to London or wherever for the weekend without her is slim, let alone if I say the purpose is to meet a load of randoms off the internet
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 11:20, Reply)
That's a bridge to cross when you come to it, I'm afraid.

(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 11:30, Reply)
You really shouldn't have mentioned that
You massive gayer
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 11:11, Reply)
Meh, I can't even be bothered to contradict you any more

(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 11:20, Reply)
There's always someone drunker.

(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 11:03, Reply)
True
The problem is that I've been that person, though I feel I kept myself together well. They were serving a very tasty ale, after about 5 pints I could feel the room spinning, turns out it was about 6.2%. Was a little quiet after that...
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 11:10, Reply)
It's not just that,
I think when you get to speak to people in real life you can judge their tone better online and then realise when they're joking/trying to wind you up or if they're actually annoyed with you.
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 10:44, Reply)
That's a very good point
I'm aware that my biggest failing when it comes to online forums is my inability to distinguish good-natured yet massively offensive ribbing from outright arseyness
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 10:47, Reply)
this, plus i'm thick so it's even worse!

(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 10:49, Reply)
Harsh on yourself there
thick easy to rile
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 10:55, Reply)
some people are considerably better online and a few thousand miles away though

(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 10:49, Reply)
In my mind you sound like blaine the mono from the dark tower.

(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 10:48, Reply)
I have no idea what you're banging on about.

(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 11:00, Reply)
No worries Chompster.

(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 11:18, Reply)
Aye
I know of (at least) 4 b3tans who don't like me on here or in real life, ah well. Life goes on really.
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 10:49, Reply)
What;s dozer done?
Did I miss cuntery online??
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 10:48, Reply)
Not going into it now
Remember when I thought I'd seriously wound you up because of a response to something you said, and you told me not to be such a daft soft sod, or words to that effect? Since then I've been trying to see the funny side in the things people say etc so that I don't jump the gun, but I cannot see anything in the way Plumozer conducts himself that isn't just unbelievably cunty. Personal preference.
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 10:57, Reply)
I don't like him.

(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 11:05, Reply)
I'm indiferent
I'm going to start judging/rating all his posts.

Where is he
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 11:05, Reply)
Vindication
If Noel doesn't like him then he must be a wanker
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 11:07, Reply)
See Noel likes me so I can't be that bad
*facerubs*
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 11:13, Reply)
Noel likes me too
so we can't both be right. Or Noel is just too nice.
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 11:19, Reply)
Noel hates me
you should see the hateful filth he posts on my wall.
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 11:51, Reply)
You're assuming I don't like you
which I don't. I don't not like you. Following me?
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 11:21, Reply)
I seem to get on with him but don't know if that's just me?
he seems alright.
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 11:20, Reply)
Try telling him you like Pendulum
He goes apoplectic. It's hilarious
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 11:39, Reply)
You'll be pleasantly surprised.
