Right, that thread's dead.
Everything nowadays is shit. It was all so much better when I was younger. What was better when you were younger?
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 17:50, 146 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
Eeh.
But you just got on with it, but then you had to, back then.

My Sidney never had a car. It was black.
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 17:53, Reply)
I don't know about that.
I remember the days of the ZX Spectrum where you'd wait for ten minutes for a game to load, only for it to fail at the last minute.

You'd then have to go through the entire process again but at a different volume.

That was pretty shit.

FANTASTIC!

(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 18:01, Reply)
That's more like it
I can't really think of anything that was much better when I was younger. Food, for instance, was of a fairly poor standard and variety. TV wasn't really all that. Your favourite music tapes always got eaten. Also, the house I grew up in I now find intolerably cold.
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 18:11, Reply)
The price of beer was better. I've just got to the pub and paid £3.80 for pint. Tsk.

(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 18:02, Reply)
Where do you live?
That is shit. Not that I drink much any more, but we pay between £2.70 and £3.30 a pint here.
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 18:03, Reply)
North London. Average price here. I paid £2.30 in Dorset recently. Thinking about moving

Eep, must leave bank card at home on Friday.

(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 18:15, Reply)
I doubt you'd need it anyway.
You'll get drinks bought you whether you like it or not.
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 18:16, Reply)
What a lovely thing to say.
I'm not on the alcohol and there's only so much Red Bull a man can drink.

I don't mean just by me : )

(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 18:17, Reply)
I know, you're probably right.
What are you doing about breakfast? I'm catching the 11.13am back from Euston so if you're alive before that we'll sort something out.
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 18:19, Reply)
I'm catching the train about 1pm but I will probably wake up early. I always do.
See what happens : )

(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 18:35, Reply)
Har har!
No, I plan on behaving myself :)
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 18:37, Reply)

I am single, and I will most likely be drunk.

(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 19:07, Reply)
Yes, but it's alright for you
you have a home to go to. I have a hostel bed which I have to be out of by 10am the following day...
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 19:20, Reply)
I'm bringing a little bottle of voddy and orange just in case I need hair of the dog.
It's the only thing that sorts me out.
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 18:45, Reply)
Well I'm in the same hotel
Wake me up, and I'll join you :)

(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 18:26, Reply)
They're alright.
What I don't get though, right, is people who buy magazines just for tits, like Zoo. They're just a pair of tits, it's no big deal. Sure, it's nice when there is a nice pair you can play with, but what's the point printed on some paper?
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 19:07, Reply)
Do you know what, Gonz, I'm with you on that one.
Those magazines are utter shit.
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 19:09, Reply)
Where I used to work, there were loads of "COOOR, LOOK AT HER" type stuff, women walking down the street, women in magazines, anything like that.
I just found all that a bit teddious, reckon one person does it 'cus he is ashamed of being gay, then the next lot do it just to fit in.

They'd be watching something like Loose Women and ask me what one I would like to [crude comment], and I'd pick one at random.

about to call the vet just now

(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 18:31, Reply)
it smells awful

(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 18:32, Reply)
Bad times.
I think you'll be going to the vets and spending some money K.

:(
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 18:33, Reply)
deffo, but I'll likely have to take time off work, third week in a row, boss is NOT going to be happy
maybe I'll bring her round his tonight so he can see how disgusting she smells
I don't really care about the money, it's just that my party is on saturday and I've got to buy food and drink for it. I think they'll understand if there's just crackers and a bit of cheese.
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 18:39, Reply)
I'm sure if you explain to your guests they you've been hit with a unexpected bill
They'll contribute food and drink for your little shin-dig.
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 18:41, Reply)
nah, don't care really, there's only been a couple of people to RSVP so I'm only throwing bits together
if more people show up it's their fault if they go hungry
and they can have tap water
my dog is more important

Good answer..
Your dog is more important.

When are you off to the vets?
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 19:15, Reply)

School holidays were great.
Most days I'd cycle to Bath to play golf, but then I got to about 14 I jettisoned cycling and golf to go to the shops with girls.

That was your first mistake.

(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 18:44, Reply)
Well I was shit at golf
What would you have done?
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 18:47, Reply)
By my late teens, six-week summer holidays were a chore.
I reckon I'd quite enjoy it now, it'd mean I could do national trails without having to worry about work.
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 18:21, Reply)
The year before Uni
It you had been a good student, you'd get 4 months holidays. It was the best summer ever.

about nostalgia

to be fair, I can't remember much more and I am currently burning oven chips
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 18:53, Reply)
I remember when Mirco-Chips were first launched.
They tasted awful.

I wonder if they still make them?

bloody hell!
it appears they do. but why?!
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 19:01, Reply)
They make them so that Blousie has something solid to bring up
When shes drunk her self sick,
(, Wed 20 Oct 2010, 19:04, Reply)
at least they serve a purpose
we used to eat fish finger sandwiches at uni as our post-drinking food. It was something we used to tempt people back to our house with. I suspect they thought it was a euphemism
