The day is improving
I've managed to sort out 2 big problems that I had, and I'm taking the day off sick tomorrow and then travelling to Madrid.

Are you in London on Sunday? I'm in Worthing on Sunday :) Have you seen Brighton yet? Do you want to meet there and have a nice coffee (or beer)?

Throwing a 'sickie' in honour of the Aussie?

(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 17:58, Reply)
I'm not throwing it
I've got JeffAids and despite that, I've been coming to work and done 10h/day; but now I'm almost dying, and I don't want to be all fucked up for the interview, so I'm taking it easy tomorrow.

Get yourself some soup have a hot bath and keep yourself hydrated.

(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:03, Reply)
I had a meatball soup for lunch today
mmmmm

Drinking around 3l of liquid/day.

I don't do baths, sorry, just showers. I feel too bad about wasting water. But I put the heating up in my room 30min before going to bed (and then switch it off) and I've been treating myself using the electric blanket for a bit longer than usual :)

Hot and spicy food can really help shift a cold.
Why not have a dead hot curry?

I wish I was closer to that one Indian place I went to that one time.

(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:40, Reply)
Do you ever cook curries if local Indian restaurants are hard to find?

(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:41, Reply)
I bought a kit once, chicken korma
was pretty spicy

bogus official was all "we raise our babies on korma, man up" or something I don't know
but it was hawt

This is a fairly easy curry recipe
Hot Curry dish: www.curryhouse.co.uk/rsc/madras.htm

Mild curry dish: www.curryhouse.co.uk/rsc/korma.htm

cool, ta
will deffo have to try it out
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 19:01, Reply)
If some of the ingredients are hard to source
I'll find you a different recipe to try with 'easier to find' stuff!
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 19:06, Reply)
I think the madras would be easier to make than the korma, tbh
it just gives me an excuse to visit the world foods market at the weekend!!
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 19:08, Reply)
It'll be quite a hot dish, so careful if you decide to add any extra spice!
Also, coconut milk is your friend and will cool down the sauce, as long as you don't add it when the sauce is boiling, as it'll curdle.
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 19:11, Reply)
oh cool, ta

(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 19:16, Reply)
Hahaha!
Korma is one of the mildest currys there is.
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:56, Reply)
to be fair I did add extra cayenne
but it was still hot

I never used to eat anything spicy, not used to it. Don't laugh at me :((((
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 19:00, Reply)
You do get more tolerant the more often you eat spicy food.
If you ate a curry every week, you'd soon find the Korma a bit bland want to to try something hotter.

God, I really fancy having a curry this evening, I could stuff myself silly with a hot curry, nann bread, popadums, rice, dhal and pickles.

Curses for deciding to have salmon, a jacket spud and salad.
