Evening folks!!
How are we all today?? I'm having a fab time here in Engerland. Today I went to the seaside and just about froze my tits off. I also dropped my bag in the mud when I slipped which was clever of me. But I've had a grand day. :)

If you haven't had a good day, why not??

Which seaside did you go to and why?
It's not seaside weather - even us Brits know that.
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 17:51, Reply)
we went to Dunwich!
Just went to see it. :P
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 17:54, Reply)
Did you paddle?
Or have candyfloss? or a stick of rock?
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:02, Reply)
nope, nope and nope.
went for a good walk instead.
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:04, Reply)
Well, you've still got those things to tick off in that case.
And, like Chompy said down vthere somewhere, you need to have a fry-up, and fish & chips, and a roast dinner too.
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:06, Reply)
also rock pooling

(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:08, Reply)
I have a roast dinner every sunday at home. but without yorkies.

(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:08, Reply)
Been there
But not often. There's only so long you can spend looking at cliffs.
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:05, Reply)
I've had a nice enough day.
Did you have fish and chips at the sea-side?

What else have you done in the 36 hours you've been in England? Noticed any amusing cultural differences?
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 17:51, Reply)
were you wearing a cagoule at the same time
if so, you totally had the England experience.

I have a meh day, I'm off with poorliness
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 17:52, Reply)
You still feeling rough Crunchy?
Have you managed to eat anything yet?
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 17:52, Reply)
yeah, for some reason
the only things that i can face are protien based. Going for a bacon butty now - hopefully I can handle the bread, now.
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 17:54, Reply)
Have you been well enough to do any marking?

(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 17:54, Reply)
nah, it's all reports I need to do
they've sorted it so i can do them when I get back
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 17:56, Reply)
Well you might as well milk this for a few more days then!
Get the illness out of the way, then treat yourself to an extra day off so you can do something fun.
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 17:57, Reply)
nah, stuff will just pile up
I'll probably go in tomorrow
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 17:58, Reply)
Well make sure you are well enough, nothing worse than being off sick and rushing back to work only to be ill again.

(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 17:59, Reply)
my problem is if I don't declare myself well
I'll have to concede and go to the doctors and I don't like going to the doctors. Thus I will be fine. (also just managed to eat the bacon butty, so that is proof)
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:00, Reply)
No one likes going to the doctors
As generally, having to go to see the dr means you are ill.

But if you are poorly, then maybe they are the best person to see?
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:02, Reply)
no, I'm fine
I ate a bacon butty. Proof if proof be need be
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:03, Reply)
HP or Ketchup on it?

(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:04, Reply)
HP of course

(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:05, Reply)
Good work.
Smoked or unsmoked bacon?
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:06, Reply)

(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:06, Reply)
And what sort of bread?
(At the moment, you are close to the perfect bacon sarnie).
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:11, Reply)
brown

(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:12, Reply)
Whole-meal or granary?

(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:13, Reply)
whole meal
i think. It was brown and bread like
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:14, Reply)
*Sobs*
You were doing so well, up until your choice of bread.

:(
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:15, Reply)

oh, sorry for you being poorly mate.
didn't use my Cagoule (I had to ask what it was!) cos it wasn't raining.
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 17:55, Reply)
blimey! where were you
i thought it rained everywhere today
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 17:56, Reply)
over in Dunwich. It didn't rain but the wind was very very icy.

(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 17:57, Reply)

for the loveliest of our weather. February would be worse, mind
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:01, Reply)
She might like the snow
Snow if fun if you're on holidays and you don't have to take a plane.
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:06, Reply)
or drive anywhere

(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:07, Reply)
Snow is probably all the more fun if you live somewhere hot and rarely get to see it too!

(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:07, Reply)
I've never seen snow!

(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:09, Reply)
The day is improving
I've managed to sort out 2 big problems that I had, and I'm taking the day off sick tomorrow and then travelling to Madrid.

Are you in London on Sunday? I'm in Worthing on Sunday :) Have you seen Brighton yet? Do you want to meet there and have a nice coffee (or beer)?
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 17:57, Reply)
Throwing a 'sickie' in honour of the Aussie?

(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 17:58, Reply)
I'm not throwing it
I've got JeffAids and despite that, I've been coming to work and done 10h/day; but now I'm almost dying, and I don't want to be all fucked up for the interview, so I'm taking it easy tomorrow.
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:02, Reply)
Get yourself some soup have a hot bath and keep yourself hydrated.

(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:03, Reply)
I had a meatball soup for lunch today
mmmmm

Drinking around 3l of liquid/day.

I don't do baths, sorry, just showers. I feel too bad about wasting water. But I put the heating up in my room 30min before going to bed (and then switch it off) and I've been treating myself using the electric blanket for a bit longer than usual :)
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:05, Reply)
Hot and spicy food can really help shift a cold.
Why not have a dead hot curry?

I wish I was closer to that one Indian place I went to that one time.

(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:40, Reply)
Do you ever cook curries if local Indian restaurants are hard to find?

(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:41, Reply)
I bought a kit once, chicken korma
was pretty spicy

bogus official was all "we raise our babies on korma, man up" or something I don't know
but it was hawt
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:47, Reply)
This is a fairly easy curry recipe
Hot Curry dish: www.curryhouse.co.uk/rsc/madras.htm

Mild curry dish: www.curryhouse.co.uk/rsc/korma.htm
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:54, Reply)
cool, ta
will deffo have to try it out
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 19:01, Reply)
If some of the ingredients are hard to source
I'll find you a different recipe to try with 'easier to find' stuff!
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 19:06, Reply)
I think the madras would be easier to make than the korma, tbh
it just gives me an excuse to visit the world foods market at the weekend!!
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 19:08, Reply)
It'll be quite a hot dish, so careful if you decide to add any extra spice!
Also, coconut milk is your friend and will cool down the sauce, as long as you don't add it when the sauce is boiling, as it'll curdle.
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 19:11, Reply)
oh cool, ta

(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 19:16, Reply)
Hahaha!
Korma is one of the mildest currys there is.
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:56, Reply)
to be fair I did add extra cayenne
but it was still hot

I never used to eat anything spicy, not used to it. Don't laugh at me :((((
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 19:00, Reply)
You do get more tolerant the more often you eat spicy food.
If you ate a curry every week, you'd soon find the Korma a bit bland want to to try something hotter.

God, I really fancy having a curry this evening, I could stuff myself silly with a hot curry, nann bread, popadums, rice, dhal and pickles.

Curses for deciding to have salmon, a jacket spud and salad.
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 19:04, Reply)
^this
I could eat curry every night.
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 19:05, Reply)
And me.
I love curry.
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 19:06, Reply)
haha I totally had salad for lunch
I think dinner tonight is more deer steak
which was fucking awesome last night

wonder if I could make a curry out of that? is it illegal?
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 19:07, Reply)
I made a venison curry last year
Using the left-overs from Christmas dinner.
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 19:12, Reply)
awesome

(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 19:14, Reply)
It was nice actually.
It had peas, carrots, sprouts, green beans and potato in it as well.
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 19:18, Reply)
Nah I'm not sweetie - I'm travelling to Stratford to visit Labia Majora.

good day, great sleep last night, am now heckling people on facebook for being stupid
hoorah
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 17:59, Reply)
Good work.
What are people being stupid about?
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 17:59, Reply)
I want to know too
Proper stupid or just annoying?
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:04, Reply)
it's just OMGdramaz
Basically it's my roommates ex and her sister doing a bunch of name calling, whore, etc.
Then when the person defends themselves it's "don't assume I'm talking about you I didn't write a name on here"

so after a spectacular status update this morning I wrote omg stfu already, nobody cares about your drama
and I got deleted
aw, tear, lol
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:09, Reply)
I don't see what you've done wrong
"Irritating twats get told to be less twat like"

Seems resonable to me.
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:14, Reply)
it's very ridiculous, lots of "don't be immature" running around but really, isn't calling someone a whore immature?
if you can follow, it goes like this
x dated y off and on for a couple of years, then x got with z and stayed with z for three years
z breaks up with x and is calling y a whore [for the past three years] although y had nothing to do with it
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:29, Reply)
Is x just stuck in the middle of this?
Sounds as well, like X is better off without either Y or Z*

*I'd call that, 'zed' do you say 'zee'?
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:33, Reply)
nah, x has nothing to do with it, z is just running her mouth about y and all of her friends, a b and c lolz
except she isn't BECOZ I NEVA DID SAY N-E-1's NAYM DID I?

I say Zee
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:36, Reply)
Z sounds like a moron.
When you next see Z call them a twat.
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:43, Reply)
she deleted me!
I'm dying inside!

Should I text her instead? I'll certainly never see her.
"JeffTheDogFucker says you're a twat"
yeah, that's gonna go over well
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:46, Reply)
You should do that.
If not just for the fact it'll confuse her.

Saying that, you might not look great if she thinks you know someone who fucks dogs.
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:47, Reply)
troo boo

(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:51, Reply)
A favourite passtime of mine too.

(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:04, Reply)

(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:04, Reply)

(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:05, Reply)
Some sort of all you can eat buffet as well.

(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:07, Reply)
nope - we were going to have fish and chips, but the chippy was shut!!
so had a publunch instead.
(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:07, Reply)
Shit day.
I wish I was more productive, I'm getting nowhere.

(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:30, Reply)

(, Wed 17 Nov 2010, 18:34, Reply)
YES. I'm having a fabulous time.
went walking today in the freezing wind and got to take lots of happy snaps - been to a real pub and had a ploughmans meal, and seen some pheasants and some happy pigs. What amazes me is that aside from around the pigs - there are no fences on the paddocks!
