I really struggle to believe how anal some people can be about these things
A friend of mine had his front door replaced recently, only to be served a week later with an order from the council to repaint it "because the colour wasn't in keeping with the rest of the street."

All the other houses have white front doors. His...was off-white. And yet they insisted.

I was watching a Grand Designs last night where the couple had to stop building for 11 months
because the orchestra group next door complained that their bricks weren't the exact same colour as the bricks next door, despite the whole group of buildings being patchwork anyway.
