£20 seems ok.
Something fun or a bit silly would be cool. If you are aware of her music or film tastes then something down that line also.

(, Tue 30 Nov 2010, 20:02, Reply)
an I cheap?
that's about what I'd spend on someone I'd been seeing for a while. Maybe up to £30 if they were hot
(, Tue 30 Nov 2010, 20:02, Reply)
No, the cash value of a gift isn't important.

(, Tue 30 Nov 2010, 20:05, Reply)
The value of the gift is relevant to your financial situation.
I wouldn't expect someone who had a lot less money than me to buy me something of the same cost I would spend on them.
(, Tue 30 Nov 2010, 20:07, Reply)
Take your gross income excluding share dividends and divide by 1000
*0.5 for people you've been dating less than a month or friends of friends that you're worried might buy you something (eg mates girlfriend)
*1 for friends
*1.5 for best friends and immediate family
*2 for someone you've been sleeping with 3-9 months
*3 for a long-term partner/girlfriend
on up for the love of your life
(, Tue 30 Nov 2010, 20:25, Reply)
that is frighteningly
well thought out
(, Tue 30 Nov 2010, 20:28, Reply)
That's a bit clinical.
There are too many grey areas in relationships to use that financial equation.
(, Tue 30 Nov 2010, 20:28, Reply)
Fuck that shit!
I can't afford that much. I blew my load disposable income for the foreseeable on jewellery last month.

(, Tue 30 Nov 2010, 20:49, Reply)
It is cumulative
so *1.5*2 = *3

A tin of Quality Street is surely good enough, yeah?

haha i hope this is jokes

(, Tue 30 Nov 2010, 20:50, Reply)
I mostly worked backwards from how much I tend to spend
but yes, it's much more "oh they'd like that" and then not worry too much about price, than what this might suggest.

I'm not a total autism.
(, Tue 30 Nov 2010, 20:52, Reply)
