i have 9 working days left
before i will be sunning it up on the beach for a caribbean christmas.

i am eating the best greek food in the whole of london this evening, and have skipped breakfast and lunch accordingly.

i have a christmas party on wed, one on thu and one on fri.

on sat i have an evening of debauchery that would make monty blush, and on sunday i am back down in london to see the nieces/nephew.

i am quite pleased with how this week is shaping up. if only i didn't have pesky work in the way...

i am currently going through the names of 1,000 surveyors and clients trying to put together an invite list of 450 for a seminar that i yet have to write...
(, Tue 7 Dec 2010, 14:47, Reply)
It does not
as I am reading papers to prepare this fucking talk for my interview. The last few sentences I read were:
'To further evaluate the role of PAFc in transcriptional activation, we measured the effect of PAFc subunit knockdown on MLL-AF9 mediated transcriptional activation. Knockdown of PAF1, LEO1, CDC73 and CTR9 was successfully achieved in HeLa cells with siRNA transfection.'

Remind me again why I want this PhD?

(, Tue 7 Dec 2010, 15:03, Reply)
well hurry up and move to oxford
then you will only be an hour away and you can come to all these things.

except the caribbean, as i've already said, taking you as my other half would involve a major lifestyle choice that i am just not ready to make. or not quite yet anyway (the last few "men" having driven me part of the way there!)
(, Tue 7 Dec 2010, 15:09, Reply)
Don't bother.
It's not that much fun batting for the other team either.
(, Tue 7 Dec 2010, 15:14, Reply)
This makes me smile Swipe.
Why?

Simply because it has annoyed both Patty and Selma.

(, Tue 7 Dec 2010, 14:54, Reply)
this one is truly truly awesome
having even declined the WHITE CHOCOLATE TOBLERONE that someone brought back from holiday in favour of being able to validate stuffing more dinner down my lardy throat, i am fantasising about hot little triangles of pitta with various dips including an awesome spicy feta cheese one, grilled haloumi with lemon juice, fava croquettes and arguing with my companion over the sheer amount of grilled carcass that will inevitably ruin the table!
(, Tue 7 Dec 2010, 14:54, Reply)
Spicy feta. *drools*
What's the name of that chicken dish? It's kind of creamy. God damn, see how long it's been.
(, Tue 7 Dec 2010, 14:56, Reply)
ach, can't help on the meat front
but this spicy cheese dip is like an orgasm for your mouth, it really is. also they do the most divine tzatziki, think they must whip it to get it so creamy. and don't get me started on the fact that the french fries are skinny crunchy golden things smothered in crumbled feta and oregano.
(, Tue 7 Dec 2010, 15:07, Reply)
This sounds amazing!
I've only had greek food twice I think and now I wish to have more!

is that the aubergine thing?
i think so, yes.

i also LOVE their veggie moussaka. i have had to wear my brand new designer trousers today, to remind me not to eat all of it, so that i can still carry on wearing them tomorrow!

(well, not literally tomorrow, as i don't want my boss thinking i am doing the work of shame)

From a new restaurant in Glasgow. Wonderfully chargrilled lamb, with a clunge of homemade hummous and pitta.

Total bargain at £7 for 2 courses
