Whilst in the library earlier
Me and my mate spotted a fiver on the floor. We did what any poor students would do and bought twenty fags.
Then whilst walking down Northumberland Street in town we were asked to do a survey about Pringles, got taken to a little office and ate a load of them and answeered a few questions. We got given a tub of Pringles each and a quid for our troubles.

This could quite possibly be the best day of my life. What wins have you had lately?

Don't celebrate too soon -
you've just signed all your worldly possessions away to the Scientologists.
(, Tue 7 Dec 2010, 14:30, Reply)
Barry has no worldly possessions, only Pringles

(, Tue 7 Dec 2010, 14:31, Reply)
It's a good job I signed all the papers as Fulham's right back, John Pantsil, then.

(, Tue 7 Dec 2010, 14:33, Reply)
Haha!
You mentioned doing that before! Bless him, he'd make a good Scientologist/Pringlist
(, Tue 7 Dec 2010, 14:34, Reply)
Bit daft of me really as he's the only decent fullback we've got!
Just picked up my debit card as well so give us a shout when you're free for a pint.
(, Tue 7 Dec 2010, 14:42, Reply)
Will do!
Am in Sunderland all week on a training course but should be around next week for a cheeky one
(, Tue 7 Dec 2010, 15:04, Reply)
The important question is which flavour Pringles?
In terms of wins, none :o(

EDIT:
To side with Chompy, food wins = amazing pizza on Sunday night!
(, Tue 7 Dec 2010, 14:30, Reply)
I made my own Naan bread
and I had Dim sum this weekend.
Yes I'm a b3tan my "wins" revolve around food.
(, Tue 7 Dec 2010, 14:30, Reply)
I find it's never quite right unless you have access to a tandoor.

(, Tue 7 Dec 2010, 14:34, Reply)
I thought about using my chimnea
in the garden as a makeshift tandoor but the inside is as black as coal
(, Tue 7 Dec 2010, 14:36, Reply)
Could be interesting...

I thought it was interchangeable with 'northern'

The best day of your life?
Has your life up 'til now been pretty shit then?

I won a job. That's it, but I feel that's fairly good.
(, Tue 7 Dec 2010, 14:35, Reply)
No wins lately
lots of fail!
(, Tue 7 Dec 2010, 14:37, Reply)
You were witty, funny and charming
when I took you up the 'Coal Hole' the other day, these are wins.

I remember making Hitler jokes
but thanks :)

I finally got hold of an old school beech sledge yesterday.
Like rocking-horse shit at the moment up here. Mind you, the weather now says it'll start to thaw before I get a chance to use it, so not THAT much of a win.
(, Tue 7 Dec 2010, 14:37, Reply)
It will snow again at some point.

(, Tue 7 Dec 2010, 14:42, Reply)
It better fucking not.
There's more than a metre of it at my work. It made one of my lab's glass roofs collapse.

I'd just like what's here to not thaw until after the weekend.
(, Tue 7 Dec 2010, 14:45, Reply)
My life is fairly win-tastic at the moment.
I still can't believe I am actually seeing Roky Erickson this evening. Given that five years ago he was practically a vegetable this is quite something.

i have 9 working days left
before i will be sunning it up on the beach for a caribbean christmas.

i am eating the best greek food in the whole of london this evening, and have skipped breakfast and lunch accordingly.

i have a christmas party on wed, one on thu and one on fri.

on sat i have an evening of debauchery that would make monty blush, and on sunday i am back down in london to see the nieces/nephew.

i am quite pleased with how this week is shaping up. if only i didn't have pesky work in the way...

(, Tue 7 Dec 2010, 14:47, Reply)
It does not
as I am reading papers to prepare this fucking talk for my interview. The last few sentences I read were:
'To further evaluate the role of PAFc in transcriptional activation, we measured the effect of PAFc subunit knockdown on MLL-AF9 mediated transcriptional activation. Knockdown of PAF1, LEO1, CDC73 and CTR9 was successfully achieved in HeLa cells with siRNA transfection.'

Remind me again why I want this PhD?

(, Tue 7 Dec 2010, 15:03, Reply)
well hurry up and move to oxford
then you will only be an hour away and you can come to all these things.

except the caribbean, as i've already said, taking you as my other half would involve a major lifestyle choice that i am just not ready to make. or not quite yet anyway (the last few "men" having driven me part of the way there!)
(, Tue 7 Dec 2010, 15:09, Reply)
Don't bother.
It's not that much fun batting for the other team either.
(, Tue 7 Dec 2010, 15:14, Reply)

Why?

Simply because it has annoyed both Patty and Selma.

(, Tue 7 Dec 2010, 14:54, Reply)
this one is truly truly awesome
having even declined the WHITE CHOCOLATE TOBLERONE that someone brought back from holiday in favour of being able to validate stuffing more dinner down my lardy throat, i am fantasising about hot little triangles of pitta with various dips including an awesome spicy feta cheese one, grilled haloumi with lemon juice, fava croquettes and arguing with my companion over the sheer amount of grilled carcass that will inevitably ruin the table!
(, Tue 7 Dec 2010, 14:54, Reply)
Spicy feta. *drools*
What's the name of that chicken dish? It's kind of creamy. God damn, see how long it's been.
(, Tue 7 Dec 2010, 14:56, Reply)
ach, can't help on the meat front
but this spicy cheese dip is like an orgasm for your mouth, it really is. also they do the most divine tzatziki, think they must whip it to get it so creamy. and don't get me started on the fact that the french fries are skinny crunchy golden things smothered in crumbled feta and oregano.
(, Tue 7 Dec 2010, 15:07, Reply)
This sounds amazing!
I've only had greek food twice I think and now I wish to have more!

is that the aubergine thing?
i think so, yes.

i also LOVE their veggie moussaka. i have had to wear my brand new designer trousers today, to remind me not to eat all of it, so that i can still carry on wearing them tomorrow!

(well, not literally tomorrow, as i don't want my boss thinking i am doing the work of shame)

From a new restaurant in Glasgow. Wonderfully chargrilled lamb, with a clunge of homemade hummous and pitta.

Total bargain at £7 for 2 courses
