This is a question Surprise!

Herb Alpert's Taxi Driver asks: Ever given granny a heart attack on her 90th birthday or knocked down the wall between the living room and kitchen by mistake before the wife gets home? Tell us tales of surprises and their fluffy and/or messy endings.

Imagine my astonishment when I was told that you're not allowed to post an image on /offtopic despite the board's code allowing you to do so.

(, Fri 5 Apr 2013, 10:11, 27 replies)
Imagine my surprise that an otherwise perfectly intelligent poster
is surprised by something he's been told about a few times before.
(, Fri 5 Apr 2013, 10:19, closed)
I'll confess that I'm having trouble processing it. Why would the regulars of a website dedicated to silly images not want to see silly images?

(, Fri 5 Apr 2013, 10:44, closed)
I checked my book about rocket science
I can find no answer.
(, Fri 5 Apr 2013, 11:11, closed)
Are you trying to say that possibly the OT regulars are being a bit silly here?

(, Fri 5 Apr 2013, 11:14, closed)
Imagine my surprise when I discovered AB moaning about some aspect of b3ta.
By which I mean, of course, that any surprise would be wholly imaginary.
(, Fri 5 Apr 2013, 10:52, closed)
Imagine MINE when I discovered that Enzyme doesn't know the difference between moaning and surprise.

(, Fri 5 Apr 2013, 11:04, closed)
There're so many layers of imagination here.
It's like Inception without the CGI.

Good god, that was a lousy film.

(, Fri 5 Apr 2013, 11:20, closed)
I liked it. What's not to like about it?

(, Fri 5 Apr 2013, 12:26, closed)
The distinct lack of lesbians.

(, Fri 5 Apr 2013, 13:52, closed)
Now you mention it, dreams devoid of lesbians do seem pretty unlikely.

Imagine
my surprise when Amorous Badger posted a whine about another board on one that is for answering a question of the week.

In a stroke of irony, he's complaining about something that happened on a board called 'off topic'.

It's only the 7th or 8th totally unconnected post he has made here though. Can't imagine why the mods are getting tired of him.
(, Fri 5 Apr 2013, 11:09, closed)
Tired of him?
Surely not... I mean, his archive is officially endorsed by Rob and everything O_o
(, Fri 5 Apr 2013, 11:21, closed)
You have to suspect
that was pretty much the high point of his life so far.
(, Fri 5 Apr 2013, 11:31, closed)
In all fairness here, Rob also endorses Kunt and the Gang, Joel Veitch and Weebl.
And sticking your finger up a dog's bum,
(, Fri 5 Apr 2013, 11:41, closed)
And fingering kids.
You forgot that Rob fingers kids.
(, Fri 5 Apr 2013, 11:44, closed)
I'm concerned that Rob somehow controls Professor Kenny's finger.

(, Fri 5 Apr 2013, 15:01, closed)
That is an OUTRAGEOUS accusation
I'm free to type whatever I want, whenever I wanROB IS AWESOME, ALL HAIL OUR GINGER FUHRER
(, Sat 6 Apr 2013, 21:50, closed)
You really are pathetic.
Totally and utterly pathetic.

Preposterously and unbelievably pathetic.

Colossally and mind-numbingly pathetic.

Get it?
(, Fri 5 Apr 2013, 12:45, closed)
But telling someone repeatedly that they are so isn't pathetic, right?

(, Fri 5 Apr 2013, 13:52, closed)

Right.
(, Fri 5 Apr 2013, 16:47, closed)
Another finely crafted tale
from the man whose claim to fame is collating others stories into a large group of links with his own snide comments attached.
Well done AB, I'm impressed.
(, Fri 5 Apr 2013, 13:56, closed)
The Archive was the only reason I came back to /qotw.
Nonetheless, it saddens me to see AB losing his edge, like this.
(, Fri 5 Apr 2013, 14:45, closed)
See, AB, I'm with you on almost everything else
but I just don't get you and B_D on this.

The board's code allows you to post child porn as well, but you don't do that. /talk has no pictures. /offtopic should have no pictures for exactly the same reason. It's a board for discussion. Thinking that you're somehow being clever by exploiting the fact there's no code preventing it ... isn't really very clever. It does really just smack of you doing something expressly because you've been asked not to, and most of us do manage to stop that by the time we get to the age of about 9 or 10.

I'm not excusing any other form of ABLOOBLOOBLOOOing and waaah you're ruining QFTWing of any of that shit. You're mostly spot on with that. But this, I just don't get. Soz.
(, Fri 5 Apr 2013, 17:59, closed)
He's not ruining QOTW
by posting pictures, he's just making it an unpleasant place to post.

His relentless negativity and repetitive stupidity is what gets so tiresome.

As for being crybabies, you're very much overestimating how important this place is. How much would I care if tomorrow I get a 404 when I come to this page? Not on single tiny little bit.

Badger moaning about stuff, that is surprising, No! Not surprising the other one,..
