This is a question Worst Band Ever

If I was in charge of the B3ta fatwa department, we wouldn't be hearing too much from Simply Red in the future. Who's on your musical shit list and why?

I DON'T LIKE QUEEN! GET OVER IT!
I think Freddy Mercury was a great singer, I enjoyed his solo stuff and 'Somebody to Love' was alright.

But seriously, fuck off Queen fans! I can say I don't like any other band but as soon as I admit to not liking Queen, the room goes silent and everyone looks at me like I've just liquidized a baby!

'But you have to like Queen!' they say.
The smug cunt in the corner, swirling his red wine says, 'You know, if you don't like Queen, you don't like real music,' (he is also a massive fan of X Factor.)
'Seriously? Not even one song!!!'

They then proceed to play me EVERY SINGLE FUCKING SONG while singing at the tops of their voices and staring at me with creepy grins.

'Come on! Bohemian Rhapsody! You must love it!?'

No I don't! It bores me and it goes on forever!

So Queen, I officially name you, the worst band ever, simply because you've spawned the most irritating fans in existance!

Queen fans are cocks
but that's because allot of them are recent converts, by which I mean, tragic narrative whores who find Freddy 'fighting-on' (i.e. him turning into Skeletor in a waistcoat while still singing) romantic. I like Queen but they're are in no way mould breaking - they were just a mixture of stubborn, sufficiently talented and a perverse mixture of ver lucky and not at all.

Whenever I met a fellow Queen fan I am immediately very embarrassed fo both of us.

i've been a massive queen fan since the age of 3
however, that does not mean i don't respect your right to dislike them.

I've liked Queen since I was three too
but that's only because Breakthru had a train in the video, and I loved trains at that point.

Also, Queen aren't really meant to be brilliant album makers, they're a stadium band, and the tragic thing is we'll never get to see it done properly again. All we've got is DVD's, and they are awesome, and it's only on older fans testimony do I believe that it was better in person (and having been to other bands gigs I know things are generally better live)

Same goes for Hendrix. Listen to him as much as you want stoned, but it's pale in comparison to seeing him play. He's played a guitar, on fire, with his teeth!

You hit the nail on the head
I saw Queen a few times live and that is exactly what they were, a fantastic stadium band. The light shows, pomp & general "circus" feel to the whole show was pretty magical. I have seen 100's of shows over the years but apart from Springsteen & Peter Gabriel, a Queen live show takes some beating.

With the exception of Bohemian Rhapsody...
...which was very different to anything I'd heard before, Queen's songs are radio-friendly inoffensive sing-along rock tracks that are good for drunken chanting.

They're memorable for being catchy tunes, but they're hardly ground-breaking. Rather than being the world's worst band I'd put them into the so-bad-they're-good, guilty pleasure category.

Will there ever be ONE night in a University Nightclub in which they don't play "Don't Fuck Me Now"?*
