I'm helping direct a play
The play was written by one of our cast members
Or so I thought
It's being performed on Wednesday
Today, the writer of the play, who holds copyright to the play, is wondering why we're performing her play without paying her royalties
I'm a bit scared.

probably this
just try and explain the situation and get some sort of deal that's reasonable.
wost case scenario, you'll have to cancel the play.

where did you get the script from?
first thing to do is to see what sort of royalties the author is seeking.
