I have huckleberry grappa to drink tonight.
What's the oddest thing you've ever drunk?

+100 if it's a home brew
-100 if it was brightly coloured cheap spirits
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:20, archived)
Carrot wine.
I believe i win at this game of Wino Trumps™.
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:22, archived)
I used to make that.
It tastes like sherry.
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:30, archived)
My Dad is a brewer
I drink his ale. It is very yum.
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:22, archived)
...
nah, too easy...
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:22, archived)
which brewery?

(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:32, archived)
Ossett Brewery

(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:37, archived)
Where are they? Where may I purchase some of their beer?

(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:38, archived)
Ossett :oP
Yorkshire
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:42, archived)
I shall investigate.
Not very local to me mind you!
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:43, archived)
not one I've experienced

(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:40, archived)
Me either.
I like to think I know my beer too. Hence my interest!
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:42, archived)
Punch.
Vodka, Gin, Cointreau, Aftershock, Ribena, fruit juice, etc etc.
I was still drunk at 11am the next day when I started work. Hangover kicked in at 1.30pm-ish.
When I finished work I went home to bed.

I was ill.

Alcoholic bacon fat.

(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:24, archived)
WANT!

(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:25, archived)
will make you some.
£20 per litre.
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:25, archived)
Simmer bacon in vodka.
Robert is your mother's brother!
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:32, archived)
The alcohol will boil off before the fat renders

(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:34, archived)
This is true, bad science on my part.
Alcohol boils at 40, duhh.

Maybe just mature the bacon in vodka in a tank for a few months instead.
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:37, archived)
Is not true.
My mother has no brother.
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:40, archived)
My old neighbour's homemade mirto.
It's a Sardinian speciality made with mrytille berries. I was absolutely cunted after one glass and everyone else was used to it and drank several.
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:24, archived)
Hee hee.
Good work.

Was it tasty?
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:25, archived)
That stuff wasn't. Actual mirto is delicious.
I like the white better than the red.
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:43, archived)
Vinegar made from peaches.

(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:24, archived)
I'm drinking my latest batch of homebrew right now
The oddest thing I have ever drunk is probably home brewed millet beer in South African township. I drank it out of a five litre dulux tin. Bad times.
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:24, archived)
Pfffft.
What are you brewing?
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:26, archived)
Home made mild
Brewed from scratch, no kits here thankyouverymuch!

I'll send you the recipe if you are that way inclined.
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:31, archived)
I have some home made Polish Vodka

(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:26, archived)
In a bottle marked "Meths"?

(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:27, archived)
I was taught how to drink neat spirits with homemade Russian vodka
it was brought to my hotel room by a load of Moscow's school kids.
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:27, archived)
I have a batch of homebrew in my cupboard.
I drank some lychee wine in Germany and it made me feel terrible. It was dirt cheap in a chinese supermarket
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:26, archived)
What sort of homebrew are you making?

(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:40, archived)
Ale from a kit.
I'm still fairly new to it. Turned out good though.
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:41, archived)
Good stuff!
I find it really rewarding drinking something I have made. Dead cheap if you are having a party too, 40 pints for about £15-20 quid.
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:46, archived)
Yeah, dirt cheap.
Once I've got a garden I'm hoping to grow my own stuff to brew.
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:50, archived)
I've drunk my own home brew
it tasted like caffreys.

Oddest? Um... guinness and hot mulled wine.
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:27, archived)
oh and I had a
"how much can you down before you vomit" competition with a bunch of Poles, drinking the combined contents of the drip trays. I won.
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:28, archived)
a horrid mix at a bbq once
there was shampoo and catfood and gin. Not me but a friend. Bleurrrgh.
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:29, archived)
Oh my dear god no.

(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:30, archived)
my dad makes homebrew too
with mixed results.
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:31, archived)
I lad I know
pissed in a pint glass while sat at a table, then put it on the table. Someone said "we'll give you all the change in our pockets if you drink it" so he did. He drank a pint of his own piss for £7.
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:31, archived)
i don't think i've ever drunk anything that i've considered odd, but then i'm awful, sorry, no offence
great forum posting
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:30, archived)
When I used to work in greenhouses,
once a year we would divert the boiler and make a load of schnapps to last the winter. It was very warming. We also used to make cider from the apples on the farm.
(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:32, archived)
Ooooh lovely.

(, Wed 20 May 2009, 20:37, archived)
kale pale ale
which i homebrewed, by making ipa with added kale. it was surprisingly nice, i think something in the kale helped stabilise the brew

in kenya, some tribes brew the fruit of the sausage tree. i'd like to try sausage tree beer one day
