need to buy a new car but don't have the disposable income to buy one that befits my standing in the community lol
might just have to settle for an old banger rofl
(, Fri 17 Jan 2025, 12:46, archived)
lmao

(, Fri 17 Jan 2025, 13:08, archived)
Like that episode of The Twilight Zone
where he breaks his glasses and then can't find his knob.
(, Fri 17 Jan 2025, 12:50, archived)
pretty much exactly the same

I've been trying to find drivers for Windows Server 2008 R2
Every single fucking one says "durr this driver doesn't work on this system" and then closes. I've wasted 14 CD-Rs in the last 2 hours alone. Fuck Intel and fuck Dell, they're both cunts.

Managed to find a driver
Only problem is that it relies on a update Microsoft deleted from their website a year or so ago, which has no archives anywhere
(, Fri 17 Jan 2025, 13:30, archived)
Odd, all Server 2008 R2 stuff is still available.
What's the KB article number?
(, Fri 17 Jan 2025, 13:53, archived)
I believe the file name is Windows6.1-KB2533623-x64.msu
You can find versions for Win 7 floating around but none for S08R2
(, Fri 17 Jan 2025, 13:59, archived)
It was actually supeceded by a later rollup update, so that is why that specific one is pulled.
Not sure which KB it's part of now, but that one should sort you out if you aren't able to run Windows Update for some reason.
(, Fri 17 Jan 2025, 14:12, archived)
Superseded

(, Fri 17 Jan 2025, 14:26, archived)
Yeah yeah
Shove it up yer arse.
(, Fri 17 Jan 2025, 14:29, archived)
Thanks mate
works
(, Fri 17 Jan 2025, 14:37, archived)
Goodo!

(, Fri 17 Jan 2025, 14:38, archived)
Howd'ya find that?

(, Fri 17 Jan 2025, 14:16, archived)
There is this new and magical thing called "Google", which is a website that allows you to find things!
It's totally rad. Don't be embarassed, it only launched in the '90s, so totally understandable.
(, Fri 17 Jan 2025, 14:17, archived)
Think I'll stick to Ask Jeeves,
no reputable company would call themselves Google.
(, Fri 17 Jan 2025, 15:13, archived)
haha i wonder if that is still going not looking tho

(, Fri 17 Jan 2025, 17:18, archived)
It's still sort of there.
A generic search page with the "Ask.com" logo. No Jeeves though.
(, Fri 17 Jan 2025, 19:44, archived)
Don't tell him, Pyke!

(, Fri 17 Jan 2025, 14:01, archived)
Mind your own fucking business

(, Fri 17 Jan 2025, 14:04, archived)
No! I like to help people wot need it.

(, Fri 17 Jan 2025, 15:04, archived)
What's the driver for specifically,
and why are you having to burn them to CD-Rs?
(, Fri 17 Jan 2025, 13:22, archived)
USB drivers
and I have no CD-RWs on hand
(, Fri 17 Jan 2025, 13:30, archived)
Needing USB drivers explains needing CD-Rs,
what model is the server?

Edit: nevermind I've seen that you've been trousered.

I have developed trigger thumbs and can't knit
That's well and truly knob.
(, Fri 17 Jan 2025, 13:36, archived)
Could you get knitting mitts
that hold the needles in a kind of rigormortis grip?

If not, there's a dragon's den opportunity for you.
(, Fri 17 Jan 2025, 13:45, archived)
Anything that means I have to grip is bad
My thumbs clamp themselves to the sides of my hands and have to be pried off with the other hand
(, Fri 17 Jan 2025, 13:49, archived)
Bollocks

(, Fri 17 Jan 2025, 14:02, archived)
Trigger thumbs?
That sounds rubbish, Dave.

I've had shit thumbs from birth
Ever since preschool I was able to, if I push hard enough, make it go back farther. It'd be able to do this until about 6 hours later when I had to push it back again.
(, Fri 17 Jan 2025, 14:29, archived)
i used to be able to do that with my bollocks
