Apparently he's had a stroke. I really hope he pulls through,
but all the same, it's quite funny to imagine him saying this in the voice he uses for the spoken-word parts of 'MTV Get Off The Air':

”I hopped out of my bed because I needed to pee, and my left leg just collapsed under me, and I fell to the floor," says Biafra. "I couldn’t even break the fall with my left arm because it wasn’t working either. I tried to hop back up again, and I couldn’t. I realised I had fallen and I can’t get up!

"It was this point I thought, 'Oh shit, I’m having a stroke!'"

The Jello Biafra quote I always remembered from the 90s is "I've got a fucking liver the size of a fucking chair"
so I'm surprised to find he's still around.

Shouldn't you be telling someone to turn things off and on again?

Morning
I went to see the band Cardiacs last night. It was very, very good indeed. They did a helluva job without Tim Smith leading.

They are an impressively weird band
I appreciate them, but I don't like them. They sound like a bad trip
(, Tue 10 Mar 2026, 9:52, archived)
I mean, having seen them live now it makes a bit more sense
the glitches, jumps and wild changes sort of seem much more organic when they're playing it front of an audience. The bigger, bouncier anthemic numbers kicked off a mosh pit! This is their single from last year, it's a lot more commercial than a lot of their stuff! www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTRaHsKKlXA&list=RDJTRaHsKKlXA&start_radio=1

that sounds like something off the Scott Pilgrim vs the World soundtrack tbh
I've heard much better from them
