They smell v. nice, and it might make a few people sneeze.

# The thought is a nice one,
but flowers by the roadside I've always thought are a bit morbid. Sure to those of us who knew her they'll cause us to remember her, but only that she was involved in a car accident and that exact spot was where her life was ended, to other people it'll just signify that someone has died there.
Why not go and drop these down at a local old peoples home or something and say that they're in memorandum memoriam of a friend with a beautiful smile and that you hope they can bring them just a smidgen of the joy she bought us.

# Never thought of it like that, will see what other people think.
They're from everyone, and I'm happy to take them anywhere (within reason!) :)

# That's actually quite a sweet idea
(When I eventually go, no flowers for me. Give the money to charity, please. All tuppence of it.)

# my grandmother said that too
she paid for the flowers and asked only for charity donations.

and insisted that nobody attend her burial after the service, but that they return directly to her flat and make merry.

# That's a very lovely sentiment

# There's a lampost on the London Road out of Ipswich
that's had fresh flowers tied to it at least once a week all year round for the last 12 years.
It's so, so sad that the poor grieving person still hasn't been able to let go. After all this time they probably feel that if they stop it will mean they don't care any more.

# All around greece
They keep them going on the country roads with shrines, also... morbid, but keeps the speed down and hence the number of cars over the cliffs....

# ^this^
Lovely sentiment. Sorry to be a pedant, but don't say they're in memorandum, they're in memoriam :(

# thankyou

# Thank you very much for doing this for her.
I dont have any strong feeling about them being left on the roadside, but I agree it looks very sad when they inevitably wilt / die and look like a very grim reminder on the verge :(
the delivery to some random old folks home seems a good suggestion. *opinions end*

# They're beautiful.
To be honest I'm still lost for words so a message won't be an easy talk.

# It's okay, I'm going to take everyones advice and give them to an old people house.
I think I'm still going to take Spiders, so I might leave a card from b3ta too.
