Of why I never made it to the office yesterday...
All drivers are bastards!
No contact, I chose snow covered grass as my escape route!

I should imagine the driver of the red car would be pretty shook up as well

I was more amused than anything that they made a cycle lane as the road there was dangerous...so the cars seemed to get jealous and want to use it!

If you walk down a country lane, the idea is to walk on the side of oncoming traffic so you can see it.

I berated one the other day for cycling on the pavement, and he screamed "WHAT'S THE PROBLEM?!" at me. When I pointed out it was a pavement, not a cyclepath, he said aloofly (and rather camply), "Oh I'm not even going to bother!" and cycled off.
Pricks.

and that the highway code doesn't apply to them.
they'd be the first ones to scream blue murder if they got knocked off after going through a red light.

guy didn't bother to look right as he pulled out of a T-junction, smashed right into the side of me, destroyed my bike and half of my body. (to be clear he didn't pull out in front of me he actually drove straight into me, no traffic lights and i had absolute right of way)
if idiots like that are allowed to drive and put my life at risk i think i might just use the pavement. i dont hurt anybody, i dont force people off the path or speed past them i politely ask to be let past or go onto the grass to get past them.

no damage, just a 'WTF' moment as I weighed up possible escape options.

I chose a pavement and fence "no one on the pavment" rather than a head on with another car.... lucky the pavement had more grip and I stopped....

I feel safe enough myself, but it's selfish cunts not allowing for conditions that make it suicidal. I get enough near misses when the roads are good. The number of cars (mainly school run mothers, I might add) I've seen charging down ungritted hills towards junctions over the last few weeks ...
I use our shitty and unreliable local bus service instead, allowing three and a half hours a day for travelling instead of one - if it turns up at all.

Just through fear of being knocked off.....
