# |Have a simple graphical depiction..
Of why I never made it to the office yesterday...
All drivers are bastards!

No contact, I chose snow covered grass as my escape route!

# Serves you right for cycling on the pavement on the wrong side of the road

# ^this.

# You are both assuming it was the cyclist who failed to make it in to work
I should imagine the driver of the red car would be pretty shook up as well

# It's true, I was the cyclist...but it was a cycle path..and on the other side of the road is death.

# your are a psychopath
on a cycle path?
(, Tue 21 Dec 2010, 17:41, archived)
# Surely you're joking? (...what's that blue sign there, just where the red car ends up?)
I hope you're okay, Pixieelf!

# am all good thx.
I was more amused than anything that they made a cycle lane as the road there was dangerous...so the cars seemed to get jealous and want to use it!

# Still should have been cycling with the traffic not towards it.
(, Tue 21 Dec 2010, 17:38, archived)
# Then you wouldn't have seen it coming

If you walk down a country lane, the idea is to walk on the side of oncoming traffic so you can see it.

# ^This^
I berated one the other day for cycling on the pavement, and he screamed "WHAT'S THE PROBLEM?!" at me. When I pointed out it was a pavement, not a cyclepath, he said aloofly (and rather camply), "Oh I'm not even going to bother!" and cycled off.

Pricks.

# i get pissed off at the ones that think it's ok to go through red lights because they are on a push bike
and that the highway code doesn't apply to them.

they'd be the first ones to scream blue murder if they got knocked off after going through a red light.

# i got hit by a car once
guy didn't bother to look right as he pulled out of a T-junction, smashed right into the side of me, destroyed my bike and half of my body. (to be clear he didn't pull out in front of me he actually drove straight into me, no traffic lights and i had absolute right of way)

if idiots like that are allowed to drive and put my life at risk i think i might just use the pavement. i dont hurt anybody, i dont force people off the path or speed past them i politely ask to be let past or go onto the grass to get past them.

# Silly car
Cycle lanes are not for you!

# You should offer this sevice to people involved in accidents, to help with their claims...!!
Hope you and your bike are ok.....

# both cyclist and bike are doing fine.
no damage, just a 'WTF' moment as I weighed up possible escape options.

# Remember earlier this year.....in the thick snow and ice...
I chose a pavement and fence "no one on the pavment" rather than a head on with another car.... lucky the pavement had more grip and I stopped....

# I don't even dare take my bike out at this time of year.
I feel safe enough myself, but it's selfish cunts not allowing for conditions that make it suicidal. I get enough near misses when the roads are good. The number of cars (mainly school run mothers, I might add) I've seen charging down ungritted hills towards junctions over the last few weeks ...
I use our shitty and unreliable local bus service instead, allowing three and a half hours a day for travelling instead of one - if it turns up at all.

# I gave up cycling compleatly, about 8 years ago.....
Just through fear of being knocked off.....
(, Tue 21 Dec 2010, 17:48, archived)
# I wouldn't dare to suggest all cyclists are ignorant
but the one who jumped a red light and got killed by the woman driver texting is still dead, while the woman driver will be out of prison soon. So who's dead and who's the dumbass?

# People on bikes need to die...heh heh
