What's this gripe people seem to have with animal-themed characters? Have they never watched a Warner Bros cartoon?

i draw the line between the "catgirl" thing, where it's just a person with stuff like ears and a tail attached and anthro as the facial and body features and the presence of full body fur.

what freaks me out is the people who draw themselves as "furries". I think that's kinda scary.
