# the email said
"Got a bit bored last night while drunk....got a bit peckish...thought hmmm poached egg....decided to make the one using cling film...well the pictures say it all really....Enjoy...the dog did! Carly and Amy"

But I kinda think the pictures say everything really.

# I once burnt a jelly, no word of a lie!
Was at a party and there was a 'Crap we forgot to do the jelly for the kids' moment, so I thought I would help. Unfortunately I was a tad merry at that point and I didn't allow the jelly in the hot water to dissolve completely before I added the ice to speed-cool it, so I put it in a pan to re-warm it and hopefully dissolve it properly. It just stuck to the bottom. Hence I burnt a jelly...

True!

# i would
have done the same in your shoes, it was good of you to help out... at least somebody was thinking of the children!

# Oh dear !
Me and mr rabbitz tried the clingfilm thing on Sunday morn - worked a treat ! We found the trick is to hang on to the top of the sack *ahem* and move it around in the water for all-round cooking.

edit/ oh and butter the inside of the clingfilm first

# If you have a microwave
then the best way to poach eggs is to:

a: smear the inside of a mug with a thin film of butter
b: crack an egg into the cup
c: microwave on low power for not very long - until it's done
d: profit!
(, Wed 13 Jul 2005, 13:34, archived)
# I've tried that before
and the yolk either set solid or exploded :(
(, Wed 13 Jul 2005, 13:35, archived)
# you need to do it for a few seconds at a time
checking each time.

and on as low power as possible.

the results are yummo.

unfortunately, my microwave blew up some time ago after a large cupboard fell off the wall onto it, so I have not had these for quite a while....
(, Wed 13 Jul 2005, 13:38, archived)
# Defo
the best way to do it when pished. Egg samwidge in seconds. Constant vigilance required. There is literally a microsecond between the white hardening and the yolk exploding. This period can be extended by making a slight hole in the yolk casing.

Or you could actually poach it, which is the nicest. Soz. Impossible when pshed, though.

# *Raises hand: Right here!
Eggs and microwaves don't get on! Tho I'm told U can get one of those odd things that's egg shaped and react to the microwaves to heat up an egg that's been cracked into it. Never tried one tho.
(, Wed 13 Jul 2005, 13:40, archived)
# I have to admit
... that I tried it at the weekend and it worked perfectly! Best poached egg ever.

fact.

oh yes. This be a hat
