actually it's a mutation
it happens for different letters in different types of sentence, like D mutates into Dd in one type of sentence and Gn in another.
Which is why i failed my welsh gcse.

that's actually fairly interesting
a similar thing happens in older english; s becomes f in certain parts of words - i think it's if it's at the ftart of a word or fentence.

certain letters at the beginnings of words are "softened" depending on the preceeding word.
They aren't just pretty faces, the Welsh, you know.
